Elissa Is Being Preped For Transplant.....

First thing our neighbor said May 7 would be the day be the day 2 months ago.
I drove Elissa in to clinic today for her weekly blood lab work and as we were driving home I told her what our neighbor said about getting lungs today and she said that it was not likely. As soon as Elissa said that her phone rang and she slapped the radio off.
I could tell it was a very important call and made out enough that this was the call. This was at 10:00 this morning May 7 2020. She was told to be at DUKE at 11:00 for transplant at 3:00 eastern time.
We dropped her off and said Good Bye as we could not even walk her through the front door of Duke. She just called and said that this is not a dry run.....100% Her lung transplant. You can follow her on Facebook...Just breath for Elissa.

The donor and Elissa were both tested negative for Covid 19

Her hospital stay could be 14-21 day stay with no visitors.

Please provide a FB link - I am really poor at navigating FB.

Blessings to you and your entire family. As importantly, the family of, and, the donor. The gift of life.

14 to 21 days is cake, Elissa. You got this.

This is amazing!
Our prayers for Elissa to have a successful surgery and a full recovery, and for your entire family for strength and comfort.
The love and support you’ve given Elissa is truly inspiring.

I don't know you or Elissa from Adam (or, in Elissa's case, Eve, I suppose) but have been following your threads/posts for quite some time. This one caused a strange wetness to affect my eyes.

Thanks for your continued sharing. All my best to you, your family and especially to Elissa!
