Hah!. I didn't initially notice who had posted this, and scrolled down the page and thought, "Paul needs to see this site so he'll be able to cart his chalk and cue balls around I style."

LOL! Pool players can become every bit as gear and gadget oriented as golfers...

I love beating people that bring all their fancy stuff with a bowed house cue.

Really? My honorary nephew carries a largish 3X5 case (3 butts, 5 shafts) loaded with gear. The case was a birthday gift from me. A leather Instroke case. So do I, one made by Jack Justis...no comparison between our skill levels though. Me? I just like having decent equipment.

My honorary nephew is the guy I'd call when some guy tells me I'll never get better unless I play for money. I just tell them I'm content being a recreational banger, but if they really wanted a money game in order to "get better", I could call him. He's pretty well known here, according to the Fargo ratings, he's #2 in Oregon at 696. #1 is a 699, so when they match up, it's a coin flip to pick the winner. When I tell the guy who he is, suddenly this guy passes on the opportunity to "get better". Gee, why is that?

You don't have to have the driving skill of Lewis Hamilton to enjoy driving a Porsche or Ferrari...You don't have to play pool like Shane Van Boening to enjoy playing with decent equipment.

You might think of buying a decent case, a good playing cue, a good break cue, a good jump cue, and some accessories. You might find yourself enjoying the game more. But if you enjoy playing "off the wall", by all means do so..

^^^

Makes me think the guy I posted about could easily replicate a roll like this...also add leather piping to the edges for a custom look.
