We heard of this site from a current user and we thought this would be a good project to analyze how and why people use this site for a marketing research project.

Thank you for your help!

yeah, like marketing research for a competitor. Cute guys...

rjp

(Old underhanded market survey trick we used to do is to call a competitor and pretend to be part of an industry / trade magazine and "survey" their business - promise that you'll put the interviewee in quotes and then ask them -"how much volume, tell me about your customers, how much are profit are you making? where are your customers coming from" amazing what someone will tell you if they're promised the limelight!)

Put the crack pipe down Mr Paranoid. I don't see any intrusive questions on there list. Not a very good comparison.

Perhaps your right Jon, I am being a bit overly paranoid, esp. since this isn't my BBS (or business for that matter). 4 posts under the original topic, none of which answer the original question and you chime in on me? I don't see your name at the top of anything making your opinion wanted so who cares what you think?

Just noticed this one too:

looks like I'm not the only paranoid crack smoker here.

Have a nice day.

RANDY P

why don't you try to email either 911 junky or myself and check out our email addresses? by looking at that you would notice that our addresses end with <unomaha.edu > which stands for the University of Nebraska-Omaha, we are just marketing students doing a paper about online communities... so we're obviously not competitors

Junkies...why not do your research with Waynes approval instead of walking in here and expecting a warm welcome, when you don't bother to introduce yourself. To earn respect you much show respect. There are a lot of very friendly people here, but you must display acceptable social behavior or you will be toast here.

Mmmm....yes, I hang up on "market research" morons and telemarketers when they call me at home, why on earth would I answer in a forum I choose to visit? Unless Wayne's asking, of course. It's his board after all.

Instead of studying market research, find a real job and give something back to society. Otherwise you're just leeches.

Why not do a poll on hostility, paranoia, and... proper etiquette on Internet mailings lists? You might have to change majors to Socio.

I appoligize for the uproar I have caused. But just so you know it is because of research like this auto makers make accessories for your cars so you can make them look and run the way you do. If they didn't ask these questions we all would be still driving the covered wagon.

I do understand the fustration telemarkers create. I hang up on them too. I wouldn't be doing this right now if my earning a college degree didn't rely upon it.

Thank you for your help.

I just answered the poll...I ALWAYS lie to political poll takers...I see no reason to change my habit here...
