Elissa Had Some Ups And Downs
After walking for her second time Saturday her lung gasses went low and they had to place her on a vent for a few day. Today we got a call from the Surgeon and he explained the setback....Elissa had noted some pain on her second walk of the day and some of the meds slowed her breathing rate and that made her crash. They are planning to pull the vent and better control her meds. Her new lungs are pristine Her Heart,Liver and Kidneys are all doing great. No signs of rejection or any other issues.

Scary, but so glad there was a good explanation. She’s a fighter. Best wishes.

Reading that..it sounds like the most important parts of her recovery are doing great.
Maybe just trying to do too much...too soon. Take it slow Elissa....there is no hurry. |
I'm just as scared as if Elissa is my daughter. She is in my prayers.

I hope this helps. A friend of my g/f had chronic lung issues, the only option was a double lung transplant. She had one 10 years ago and never looked back. She's been fine since.

I keep thinking about you guys.

Dangit, I was afraid to click on it all day. I am not sure what to say but I really wish her a speedy recovery and love to see pic of her hanging out doing stuff again.

Please let Elissa know her fan club here won't stop pulling for her!

Ups and downs are to be expected after transplant or any major surgery such as Elissa's. Healing takes time. These are those baby step days. She will get stronger each day and the set backs will be forgotten as she heals. Your doing great Elissa !
