How would you Design a 992
|
I think it’s the same car with stickers.
I’d start by changing the rear. The brake light looks like crap. Then I’d fix that stupid nubbin. After that I’d change the color palette. But I don’t think that was the answer you were looking for. |
I guess the top one without the stickers? The stickers aren't awful or anything, they just don't add anything either.
|
Wow, that sticker removal process really improved that car!
|
I'm open to anyone's suggestion, I won't be offended in the least.
I never was a sticker guy, or a look-at-me big spoiler guy, but it looked great in person, with the black stripe. It seemed to accentuate the lines. Wft is a nubbin ? |
The "Mom Car" reflectors or whatever on the rear valance have got to go.
|
To me, the shortened sticker ending at the door accentuates the rear lower doorline, and it makes me think of a boxster/cayman door. Since they were trying to fit the whole "porsche" into the front half, the letters get real small, which accentuates the high waist/wheelarch of the newer designs. It's like the rear fender section part of the sticker fell off during a high speed drive somewhere.
God, I'm so positive. Someone must have pi##'d in my cheerios tonight! ;) Another vote for no stickers, but it's your car, and like a lot of the new cars, some stuff looks better in person than in pics. |
Were's Joe Bob when you need him? ;)
|
Now you got me googling cayman stickers- and no, you can't steal a decal off a cayman and put it on a 992! :D

First, I think of a woman, then I take away all reason and accountability...
|
Make the sticker go all the way to the rear wheel arch..

Speaking of Cayman stickers, my '11 came with period stickers. That's how they did it 9 years ago.
The original owner had "issues", hence the car was tattooed with a buttload of them. I took all of them off, including the ridiculous one over the driver's side door. I left the strange twisty road sticker because it's unusual, and the car is still slightly garish with the "Cayman S" sticker already anyway. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1589780308.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1589780308.jpg As it looks today: This will give you a comparison for your 911 if you decide to go with stickers on the rocker panels. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1589780559.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1589780719.jpg I would have never ordered the yellow seat belts and dash instruments. But I added a center radiator. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1589780521.jpg |

yep, not a lot of 'designing' going on here. |
Hey, in the end, it is just a sticker. I think the black is better than the red, but I personally prefer no sticker. The cost of the sticker is minimal compared to the rest of the car cost. Get the sticker, if ya like it, keep it on. It is easy enough to remove if you do it before a lot of years. After 5 or 6 years stickers or viynyl wraps are a real tedious pain to remove.

Stickers add 50hp at least.

Go sell crazy somewhere else. We're all stocked up here. |
I'd get a different color, throw these wheels on and call it a day.
(not a 992 but you get the point) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1589817880.jpg |
Stickers are great on the track...not cool on the street. Just my opinion. Never could like the "boy racer" thing on a street car.
But a pretty obvious opinion since I selected a Bullitt Mustang model over a striped, spoilered, and fake scooped one. |

I've been in love, and am still to this day with the car and the lines, and the color. I'm trying to fall back in love and it's a challenge, thus the passing thought of the stripe. The rear is really taking some getting used to.....so we're still dating. And the Gentian Blue, where I originally started is back to flirting with me. Inside is easy...manual, wheels, and leather will mostly do it. |
Since it's a turbo, could you put a turbo decal on the fender like the 951?

Ok... I get it. Took me a night.
Hey, when I ordered my ‘06 I took the only free option Model designation delete. |
