Can you see the irony?

On the road today I saw a new Jaguar with a license plate that read "7 1776"

Well, there are Korean cars called KIA, as in killed in action. One of their models is called the Soul.

I don’t imagine they are driven by too many Korean War Vets.

Waiting for Vietnam to start making a car called the MIA. First model named the Pow.

Kind of like Chevy marketing in Mexico with the Nova. In Spanish "not going".

Or a Japanese company making a Tinian or Eniwetok model.

I think the irony is an American who loves an English car yet brutally states our independence from them.

Let me explain. You see, these dudes from England came over in the 1600's and............

That's exactly what I was talking about.

Depending on the year of the Jag it might have some Ford running gear and internals

Jaguar Land Rover is owned by Tata (Indian)

Considering the history of the British Empire I find that rather amusing. Pip pip, Carry On! ;)

Is that about one-half as ironic as some dude on an American based German automobile fanboy website posting such an observation?

I suppose more accurately, it simply reflects the globalism that the world reflects today (or at least used to be before Covid 19 et al)

That one's easy - The first expected breakdown is in 7 minutes or 1776 feet, whichever comes first!
