Never did like the pop-ups either...large, small...they should be in full view :D |
The OP is mostly about the horrible square headlights - like the terrible mistake MB made and the results of which are shown on a recent thread...
|
....whew. I was feeling insecure for a bit there.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1590345269.jpg

I'll have my 123 bodied Mercedes sans the round USDOT headlights any day, thank you.

You can get rid of the two ugly bumper lights. The ones in the twin grills are 4" and will fit airplane landing lights, just sayin.
|
"Headlights Should Be Round" I don't get this... Why should they be any particular shape?
|
More efficient and even projection.
I agree that speakers should be round. Spray emitters and lenses should definitely be round. Headlights are evolving tech though. LEDs can be arranged in almost any pattern. |
20 years ago that may have been true but not now. LED and HID changed all of that and then they put lenses in front of bulbs.
|
HID is still like tungsten/ halogen/ xenon technology. They really need round or oval reflectors. LED are different because each little diode puts out light in a way that they can be glued right into the reflector, and they are small. Really really small.
|
I don't know. All modern headlights seem as good as the best lights of 25 years ago. That Mercedes probably had rectangular lights in Europe, and were probably better overall lights than the US version.
But I am really enjoying the pictures. |
this thread had so much potential.
