Anyone here work on many BMWs?

Not looking for owner stories so much as mechanics. Specifically wondering if anyone has ever replaced a front differential on an E60 or E90 series car? Looks fairly straightforward but haven’t done it yet. TIA!

I was a BMW / late Porsche tech until I went to my gub'mint job in 2012. I have an E60 as my DD, and have done a lot of maintenance and repairs on it. While I haven't R&R'd a front diff on on one of those, I have serviced or repaired about everything else. I think the biggest issue will be rusted / frozen bolts / nuts in the suspension components that you'll need to remove to then replace the diffs.

Like anything else with those cars requires a soft touch, detailed work and planning the job to be successful. If you expect things to go wrong, have the tools for when those happen, you'll be fine. Also do a search on youtube - there may be some help there.

Haven't worked on one in ages. I came across the old worn-out 1600/2002 rocker shaft that I used to use to drive out bad rocker shafts. They used to wear out regularly. That's just more of the junk I'll never use again that I need to get rid of. Got a VW bus king pin reamer in the same drawer. The chances of ever needing that one are slim to infinitesimal
