Jd gx335

I've owned my Deere for 20 years now...always fixed anything myself..never been in the shop...until now.
Went to start it a few days ago and as soon as it fired up...it was squealing like crazy.
Looking under, with the deck removed, the main engine belt is halfway off the pulleys, chunks missing ...and wedged between the keepers.
It connects the engine to the tranny..passing over the fan in the back.

It's a different type of belt..twice the width, almost like two belts in one.
Brought it in to the local JD shop...week and a half for the fix.

Grass needs cutting every other day now. I have a push mower...It's a 3 beer mowing job:eek:
Lawn is an acre and a half...I figure it's only a 15 mile walk!SmileWavy

Three hours...but it's done.

Nice looking lawn.
Is your push mower self-propelled?

Yes..It's a Craftsman 23" from Menards
Nice mower...almost everything underneath is plastic. (except the deck) Makes for easy clean-up

Looks like you bag the clippings?
I don't see any cut grass left behind.

No..I have the mulching attachment added.
It came with the mower and makes for a nice finish.
I'm very happy with it.

Is your mower Honda powered?

My self/propelled ....no, it's a Briggs & Stratton.

Thanks Steve.
I like to think I have the best manicured weeds in the neighborhood. Mowing them will be the death of me some day I'm sure.
You've got a great looking spread there.

Thanks Scott.
Nothing makes me happier than a freshly cut lawn.
It took me a while to rid the lawn of weeds..but it's been worth it.

Scott Douglas 05-23-2020 04:07 PM

I can only wish I could rid my lawn of the weeds, but the neighbors don't give damn about their lawns and the wind blows all the weed seeds our way. I know a loosing battle when I see it.

Triplett.
Spray it on..or spot spray it. It really works.

Scott Douglas 05-23-2020 04:16 PM

We had a nice lawn. Then the drought happened and we couldn't water it.
Now I just keep the weeds down so they don't look like weeds.

stevej37 05-23-2020 04:42 PM

My lawn...when moving in, was a disaster. Dandelions everywheres. Broadleafs were the most prominent.
Started using Triplett..after a few years...gone. Only use a hand pump sprayer now.

I was mistaken..I bought it 18 years ago.
20HP Kawasaki Twin with power steering..(I would never buy one without p/s)
It's been a great tractor.

If their lawn isn't huge, ask them if it's okay if you spray their lawn to help control the weeds in your lawn. One of two things will happen, they'll say "sure" and let you, or they'll be so embarrassed you'll see them out the next day spraying.

I’ll say it first:

You really need to clean that garage.

Nice tractor and garage, but if you're a true JD fan it has to be a vintage diesel like this....
