I bet it is scary being a female real estate agent .
I looked at at a distressed property today . Poor lady is meeting a guy named Fast Freddy, 200 yards back in a wooded lot, with a long muddy driveway, at a blown out spooky house . I can't believe she even came in with me . I could have dismembered her with a chainsaw and no one would have heard a peep .
I'm a little rough around the edges, but I think I come off as fairly harmless within a few minutes of conversation . I could tell she was slightly guarded at first, she was super careful to not get her car blocked in by mine. She almost ran into a few downed trees trying to park , so I got out of my car , and moved them for her, and helped guide her into a safe parking spot . I remember this same scenario a few times when buying rental houses. The one lady was really attractive, and showing houses by herself in a fairly bad area . If my wife did this for a living, I would make her carry bear spray , and become a ninja. Lets face it, there are some creepy people out there . Any of your wives dabble in real estate ?

Life looks much different to a 5 foot 100 pound woman than it does to a 6 foot 200 pound man. I learned a long time ago that there is an unspoken protocol in the workplace to ensure women feel secure. Over the Christmas break locally a woman real estate agent was kidnapped and murdered. It took them quite a while to figure out who did it and catch them.

If threatened, my wife would just pull out her .44 mag...…... point it at you. Then ask "Is there some kind of misunderstanding here?"

Tell her not to point it unless she's going to use it.

Good on ya Freddy for being such class act. I think most people person can read the bad one like a book by the second sentence. But then again, those are pretty much harmless, just a rough neck, like you
. Tough and dangerous job for sure. I am in shorts and tee shirt all day but very clean cut, so I try and make sure they feel safe and sent out signals that I am absolutely harmless.

Most of us like to think we can read other people....but I don't think so. It's got nothing to do with appearances either....there are truly some psychopathic wolves in sheep attire in our society.
I've got my eye on you Krueger

Probably no need to draw even. Lift shirt and make it known, maintain distance and eye contact, make a loud call and relate all info, maintain distance until taillights disappear. Stay on professional and friendly terms throughout. Record all info. Notify others.

I would hope any RE agent would do homework on the potential buyer. Surely that has to be routine.

On the point about radar and detection of dangerous people. I disagree. I worked with a true sociopath. He was very charming. And, the best public speaker I have ever seen.
Almost he opposite. He attracted people. |

I once had a similar situation as Fred.
Old house in a quiet neighborhood. Way overpriced for the city but in a good location with potential. Unfortunately it was gutted of all the antique fixtures which would have made it complete and would have justified the double market price. Super hot realtor, for me at least. Being shown alone late afternoon. She was probably already pissed at lack of buyers. I tried to be professional and slightly friendly but got the cold vibe. I wasn't trying to be flirtatious but probably subconsciously hinted which made things worse. Hot potato. She waited by the front door while I looked around inside. Good for her. I wasn't a sure buyer anyways and wasn't very presentable after a day's work.

Suspect she felt it was a no sale and that's it. She probably received "vibes" every day from most every guy.
