After neglecting this project for a while I put in a bit of work this week. Framed in the nose, glassed the floor of the nose, built turbine tray and and remade one of the top sheets I was not happy with also started shaping the front canards and gluing up a block to shape the nose from.

I was able to connect with the builder of this boat to help get out of overthinking a few things.

I think they top out around 50 to 60 mph, maybe a little more.

I have a brushless electric r/c boat, Atomik Whiplash 24, and it will do 30mph.

Still cranking away! I have been puzzling over the nose for some time. I just couldnt figure out how to get the fiberglass nose to mate up with the frame. I spoke to a couple builders and the answer was the same. You have to cut off the fiberglass nose and build one up out of wood. So I glued up a block and went at it with a dremel. It have the rough shape down and just need to epoxy it on to finish it up.

You're practically finished! Can't wait to see the boat on the water.
For some reason, my YouTube feed has been sending Unlimited Hydroplane videos. It's been fun to watch Miss Budweiser and Miss Oberto out on Lake Washington again.
