Haircut

Screw NJ Gov. Murphy, I got a black market haircut today. Last haircut was early Feb., and I was getting sick of starting to look like my 70's self again. Well, length of hair, anyway.

I broke down and bought a clipper on Amazon. Felt great to give myself a haircut...even wasn’t perfect.

Been giving myself self inflicted buzz cuts for years. Had long hair in the early 70s and now enjoy not messing with combing, etc because it is so dam short, and I even have dumbo ears.

Getting a black market haircut is typical of the MeMeMe over- entitled attitude that pervades Western society. My rechargeable clippers only cost about USD 18 and do the job just fine. Never cut my own hair prior to Covid 19 but I want to avoid catching and/ or spreading the disease.

My wife takes a set of clippers with the 1/2" attachment, and 20 minutes to my hair....looks good for 2 months.

I am getting my "black market" haircut this week by my usual barber. It is not about my entitled attitude I really do not even need my haircut. It is about supporting someone who is being forced into economic ruin through no fault of his own. This man has been struggling to support his family and pay his bills at the shop for the past 3 months not to mention the 4 other people he employs. If you say that makes me entitled then I wear that as a badge of honor.

I miss my old barber Joe. A traditional Italian guy with a shop two blocks from my house in Paterson. Combs in a jar of blue water, Playboy magazines and not a single blow dryer in sight.

Been cutting my own hair since I was 19. Turning 75 this year. With the shoulder problems I have had, it's hard to reach anymore. Good thing my wife at one time was a cosmetologist. I let her do the back now. And in turn, I cut hers.

I stopped going to a barber about 5 years ago when I gave up on flat-tops and went to a standard crew cut that I could do myself.

Plus he raised his price from $6.50 to $6.75, ticked me off

Got my last haircut in late February when my GF treated me to one at a place she likes when we were in Paris. And I've got to admit it was a f***ing good haircut, and I never thought I'd make it three and a half months without a haircut without looking like a sheepdog, even if I feel like a sheepdog. But my hair is *still* shorter than it was before I got rid of my bowl cut in my 20s. And I'm finally getting a proper haircut next week. Hooray.

I just got my 2nd hair cut at home, this time I also went ahead and bought a cheapish Remington hair clipper with 8 guard sizes.
Size 6 on the sides and 8 on top worked just fine, mostly.

The final trimming involves a learning curve... one that my wife has not yet mastered.

I'm glad my hair grows fast because when my son saw the back of my head he laughed pretty hard for a while.

After seeing my results he is waiting for shops to open.

Did you have to go out of State, or was this one of those lawless scissored pro's?

And if you got it cut across State lines, is it legal to come back to the State where these are illegal?

Don’t have much hair on top anymore, Bought a Wahl trimmer 20 years ago, For $20 or$30 the wifey does a pretty good job with the #3 trimmer. I’ll bet Ive saved a $1,000 over two decades.

The cost of her hair stylist, well... never mind.

Lawless scissored pro. A friend and client, and in her house no less.

Nice.

Underground haircuts... Who would have guessed that would become a thing?

Oh, and around here, large close gatherings are ok as long as you chant slogans about having pity for Black. --They are MASSIVE victims apparently; but that victim-hood virtue signalling provides immunity to the Corona virus. --Pretty cool trick there.

Aaaand...the thread is broken.

I just signed up for my SECOND haircut since things opened, going this afternoon! I pay way too much to get a free beer, watch whatever fight they have on the TV, and BS for 45 minutes. And, I look sexy afterwards...
