do you have a favorite (or one you dont hate) food bar?

i've been buying that brand "ONE". they are okay and will calm my hunger if i am looking like skipping lunch is on the agenda. they taste fine, but are super sweet from some sugar substitute.

Clif bars..no thanks. to many in my past. its like eating a cork now to me. LUNA bars. no. flavored chalk.

do you have an emergency food bar on deck for emergencies?

the ONE is getting old. even the birthday cake flavor one. :)

suggestions? i like to keep one in my man-bag for emergencies.

the "Kind" bars are decent, but I haven't had one in a while. I can't remember how sweet they are, but I assume pretty sweet. I think they are mostly fruit and nuts and seeds.

When we were doing more cycling last year, we always had Lärabar bars around. They are decent as well. There are a slew of flavors.

I like the Kind bars and the Zone Perfect bars. The Zone bars hold me over a lot longer. I like the Fudge Graham and Chocolate Peanut Butter the best. I will eat Clif bars, but they leave me hungry an hour later.

The Kind bars you can get in sweet, spicy, fruity flavors.

I like Kind too - but they are $$. Vitamin Cottage/Natural Grocers have some that are very similar but half the price. Unfortunately, I don't recall their name.

JIF makes some pretty good granola/peanut bars

If I don't need something energy dense like a clif bar, I'll generally go for those Sweet & Salty bars by Nature valley - peanut, cashew, or almond.

the ones shaped like bear turds taste best

RX Bars they will hold me over for a couple of hours. Keep them in the fridge as they have no preservatives and will spoil.

Kind bars by far. I prefer real food for things like long rides, long hikes, etc. and this qualifies as real food. Not sweet unless you want sweet and choose a sweeter variety. most energy bars I find cloyingly sweet and sort of icky-gooey.

Bonus plug here for Allen Lim's rice cakes.

So these "kind" bars....do ya have to purchase them like at a pot shop? I'll take a "kind" bar and four Snickers pleaze :D

Kind "Dark Chocolate and Cherry"

RXbar "Dark Chocolate with sea salt"

I alternate between these depending on sales etc...

I am oldschool, I still reach for Cliffs Bars. Kind are good to.
