ELISSA....Is Making Plans

Plans on eating 5 pounds of snow crab legs.

Most likely she is being being discharged next week and will attend rehab for a month to get her strength up. She is presently walking 2-3 times a day walking a 1/2 mile each walk. She doing well and is on her phone a lot more. Phone conversations were 2-3 minutes right after transplant on May 7 and now they are more than 20 minutes long and 6 times a day.

Still having a few issues with some pain but last night she slept with out the trake, oxygen or any life support for the first time in 5 years. She still has 2 chest drains and 1 chest tube which are the only things hooked to her body.

So last night when she called me she talked about wanting to go to a beach on the outer banks in a few weeks and possibly going to a beach in the Caribbean next year. Her list of food was crab legs and the finest medium rare stake in North Carolina. I think she listed 9 places where she wants to eat.

Very cool! Great to hear some positive things happening in the world these days! I’ll gladly send her some good wishes! Best of luck on a continued recovery! 💪🏽😃❤️✌🏽

That is AWESOME!

I’m so pleased this has all worked out so well, despite the bumps, grinds, and detours along the way.

I have to say this, it will bug me if I don't: I have done a lot of really interesting and hard things in my life, turned into the wind and launched when the return leg was not guaranteed.

This young woman humbles me and everything I thought I should worry about.

I pray for additional successes and a return to tube free living!

Can't add more...Elissa is an inspiration. Damn, how I'm loving these updates...

For sure ^^^^ She is an inspiration to all. I went through prostate surgery and radiation treatment and it was a pain in the a$$ but nothing like what Elissa was gone through. What an admirable young lady.

I lol when I read her plan, I was expecting something non-culinary.

Hearing Elissa’s progress brings me joy. I’m so happy for her and mom and dad.

Outstanding news! This thread and the earlier related threads make up for all of the other BS for 2020. I'd say this makes 2020, just fine.
