Virtue-signaling is essentially where you imply another is inferior morally to you in order to shame them into complying (or silence). If there were claims of you virtue-signaling, they probably thought you were doing just that...much as you seem to here. You do that often.

If you donate to charity and make a big display about it you are doing it to be admired by others rather than for altruistic reasons. Think of it as a high class attention whore.
