19% will wait more than a year for a haircut.....hahahahahahahaha!

What a stupid article. Ask a 75% majority of academics with an obvious lack of perspective on anything outside of their field of study and this is what you get. I want my click back, I was hoping for something insightful.

RWebb 06-10-2020 12:38 PM

do you know what an epidemiologist is?

they asked over 500 of them

75% of those interviewed work in academia which means they have a perspective that is in no way related to reality. Plus it’s the NYT and a survey, which can be biased in any way you please.

Por_sha911 06-10-2020 01:38 PM

Published by the NYT who fired a upper level staff member who approved publishing an Op-Ed that didn't fit the paper's agenda.

you are completely confused about what research scientists do

feel free to take any risks you want however

I am, it’s called freedom!

Btw in my line of work I often have to take what research scientists do and try to make it applicable to reality. So I have a pretty good handle on the level of detachment between the PhD world and the world that most of humanity exists in.

So, all the models were wrong, the WHO now says that asymptomatic transmission of WEBB 19 is really rare (which means really, really rare) and you still hold the bags of the next round of naysayers?

What is an Epidemiology, exactly?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epidemiology

We need better ones. Go find them.

Who cares what a bunch of women that file nails for a living think?

Any decision made based on bad or intentionally misleading data will be a bad decision. The WHO is screwing the country by singing the song that China wants them to sing.

Don’t know what WEBB is, but the WHO says asymptomatic transmission Of Covid-19 may be as much as 40% of transmissions.

That was my job too, back when I was an engineer. They were doing molecular level studies on advanced composite structural materials. They knew nano tubes, we knew airplanes. We worked together and I would never disparage their work.

Arizona_928 06-10-2020 05:38 PM

Nanotube solid state chemistry. It's cool, but not my cup of tea.

As for activities. They're allowing 1500 people into the football games. That's not even the population of the town. If you throw in guidelines to make you feel like your safe.

I've got one foot in the grave already. I'm going to see Legion in the all too near future. I went to the OBX, visited a beer garden (only kinda garden worth having IMO) went out to eat at a nice restaurant on the sound side, went to the grocery store multiple times, and worst of all I had fun... I'm domed :)

It has been fun knowin y'all. But don't worry, based on Legion's continued posting there's AWESOME internet service in the afterlife.

Why are you reverse virtue signaling, Bro?!?! Next you'll be claiming yer slept!!!

cabmandone 06-10-2020 06:15 PM

Technically I'm unvirtuous signaling and I am slept... but not well rested. I blame the All Day IPA's the Duck Rabbit Milk Stouts, the Fat Tire and all the wine for that... and the 8 extra pounds I'm now carrying around.
