Crap...I only use 130 degrees for my sous vide steaks!
(would need to refrigerate to cook the steak)

fastfredracing 06-11-2020 01:02 PM

Do you sous vide?

stevej37 06-11-2020 01:04 PM

^^^ Yes....often.

stevej37 06-11-2020 01:20 PM

I'll use the outdoor grill for the last searing...but getting the steak to the right doneness is so easy with the sous vide. Med rare...129 or 130 perfect!
If I try to do the whole cooking on the grill...never gets exactly there. (plus I'll have it cut into about four diff times to check it)

Bedbugs have very little to do with being unclean.

They are amazing hitchhikers, and they can live almost forever without food, not to mention their eggs.

per wiki: "Bed bugs bites are not known to transmit any infectious disease."

This. It could be construed that she brought them and is responsible for total damages. I'd be pissed too. I'm assuming Fred is dealing with lower rent tenants with slim profit margins but if she is a decent tenant otherwise it makes sense to retain a client and of course fix the problem ASAP. No need for change if there is an easy fix. As an inexpensive first step she should immediately get rid of the mattress and buy a new one (Ikea has them for $250-400). Clean out the room and apply. Get rid of the vacuum cleaner bag and run some dust through it outside if not already.

(nevermind I read the other post. 4 months non-payment of $47? Damn. Get a lawyer and start eviction for non-payment yesterday. Document your damages and send bill to Sec8. It will only get worse.)

A pic of them and their eggs.

The only way to really get rid of them for good is to burn the house down, collect insurance and move. :)

my brother, well his girlfriend got bitten up in Italy when she pulled a blanket out to keep warm. this was at a AirBNB they rented. he freaked out and they left all their luggage in the car in the Texas summer when they got home. he cooked them. he said he found them in the blanket. yikes.

he dodged a bullet and swore off Italy in it's entirety.

vash 06-12-2020 09:39 AM

they should bring back DDT strictly for Bed Bugs. i was told it is super effective against them.

He’s going to have to swear off the USA while he’s at it. We’ve got a schitload of them here.

I scheduled the first treatment today . We will see how it goes

If you purchase anything made of cloth, wash it in hot water as soon as you get it home.

Run it through the dryer.

RKDinOKC 06-13-2020 03:32 PM

Yep that too. Cause you never know what kind of critters new stuff may be hiding. At least that's what Mom told me.

wayner 06-14-2020 07:53 AM

My routine when I return from a trip is to leave my luggage outside in the sun ( or freezing cold) for two days

Everything I’m wearing goes directly in the dryer for a heat cycle before washing
