update from my deceased brother's estate.

Last Sept. I posted a rant about the tenants-at-will living at my brother's home after he passed away.
I served them with a 60 day eviction. It ran it's course, they never moved out and so I had to go the next step. Unlawful Detainer.
I submitted the paper work, identifying the people. What they look like, clothes they wear and any vehicles they might drive.
Paid a bundle because each bum is being sued by me as the administrator of the estate.
After being served a second time, in thirty days they get cuffed if they are still there.

So how is it going? Nada. Covid-19 screwed us all and that includes the process out here
in Kalif. to rid the parasites that killed their host, my brother.
The coroner's cause of death.... Methamphetmine Intoxication. A 65 yr old bed ridden invalid.
Lost revenue for renting the house for 8 months ...20K.

All I want is to refurbish the house and get my daughter and her Mother a home next door to my 94 yr old Pop.
Before my parents gave the home to my little brother, it was my Dad's parents home for 30 years.

Not one of these tenants have ever paid any rent to my Brother. Can't believe how things work out.

I hope the courts and judges go back to work soon.

I would if it would be cheaper to bribe them with some bennies. Take the 100 bucks now, go to jail next week. No bail though so they'll be back, right?

It's called cash for keys.
You buy them out. They sign a legal document, you give each of them $5000.00 and they leave.
The Real Estate people are hounding me to let it go to them for a huge reduction on the estimated value. They just throw the amount of money at them and they accept.
I will be damned if I give them money.

Do you have any Samoan friends? Tell the tenants you guys are all moving in on Monday as room mates. "It will be fun. Monday is fight night, Tuesday is F' your girlfriend night, Wednesday is kick you head in night... Oh we are going to have such a good time."

I remember your thread from back then.... this sucks . I think I agree with Bill's suggestion... here, meet your new roommates. I'd make their lives even more miserable than they already are without actually breaking the law. You know any hard core bikers.... that don't sell meth themselves, or just some badazzes from the 'hood? Pay them to move in.

This simply sucks. What doubly sucks is that the politicians and laws they pass are now NOT in a landlord's favor. It was a very happy day when I sold a rental house.

Sure hope this all eventually works out for you..

I think I'd buy a shot gun.
Then, make arrangements to have the house tented as suggested above.
Then, when the tent comes off, stand there with the shotgun and inform them they no longer live there and will be considered trespassers if they step onto the property.
Volunteer to call the sheriff or police if they make a move to come onto the property, saying they better hurry before someone ends up dead.

Maybe speak with the local constable and re-open the file?
