T-mobile and other cell carriers nationwide issues

Wow, this is the only time that I can remember ever hearing about an issue like this.

T-mobile is experiencing issues nationwide for calling and texts. It seems to be a little intermittent.

There are reports that other carriers are as well, but I think those other carriers are saying that they are fine which could mean that the folks complaining are trying to call T-mobile customers.

T-Mobile and other wireless carriers throughout the US were experiencing issues on Monday afternoon.

"Our engineers are working to resolve a voice and data issue that has been affecting customers around the country," Neville Ray, president of technology for T-Mobile, said in a tweet. "We're sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have this fixed shortly."

The service tracker Down Detector reported T-Mobile outages in New York, Florida, Texas, Georgia, California, and the Washington, DC, area. As of 3:09 p.m. ET on Monday, Down Detector had seen over 93,000 reports of T-Mobile outages and varying reports from the other carriers. Phone owners in the US also reported issues on social media Monday afternoon with their cell service, particularly T-Mobile.

While both Down Detector and customers on social media reported that AT&T and Verizon service was down, an AT&T spokesperson told Business Insider its network was "operating normally." A Verizon spokesperson also told Business Insider the carrier was "operating at normal service levels" and said that, given that "another national carrier" was having issues, calls to and from that carrier might get an error message, resulting in reports of issues.

That explains a lot. I thought mine was an isolated incident.

I wonder if there's a network engineer sitting somewhere right now with 1 MAJOR pucker and 2 sweating like a pig.

Or they are sitting back and told their boss they was a YUGE raise.

My and wife’s T Mobile phones wouldn’t receive calls for part of today. Portland.

red-beard 06-15-2020 05:54 PM

I was able to get our phones to work. I manually set the Mobile Network to 2G/3G. As soon as we try to use 4G or 5G, the phones stop working.

I can make calls now, but not receive calls.

I thought it was me but it kept dropping calls and many of them wouldn't go through. Many text complains from clients. I don't even have t mobile

Haha, perfect timing for us. House listing went active today at noon, son got accepted into elite program, no phone calls. LOL. ATT is our provider, been an issue since CV hit. 6+ years full coverage, now I have to stand at the corner of our property to not drop the call. WTF.

Noooo, you aren't moving out of state are ya? We need good people to stay here in CA.

Texting is back up, and apparently, I missed drinks out with friends

WPOZZZ 06-15-2020 09:40 PM

Mine came back up about 5:00 pm Hawaii time. I was able to make calls via wi-fi.

Update - June 15, 2020 10:03pm PST

These issues are now resolved. We again apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

June 15th, 2020 8:45pm PST

Starting just after 12 pm ET and continuing throughout the day, T-Mobile has been experiencing a voice and text issue that has intermittently impacted customers in markets across the U.S. We are recovering from this now but it may still take several more hours before customer calling and texting is fully recovered. Neville Ray has shared updates throughout the day but I wanted to share the latest on what we know and what we’re doing to address it. This is an IP traffic related issue that has created significant capacity issues in the network core throughout the day. Data services have been working throughout the day and customers have been using services like FaceTime, iMessage, Google Meet, Google Duo, Zoom, Skype and others to connect.

I can assure you that we have hundreds of our engineers and vendor partner staff working to resolve this issue and our team will be working through the night as needed to get the network fully operational.

Typical CEO response for "we don't have a clue yet" imo ;). Hundreds of engineers? LOL... quit wasting their time... probably only a handful (if that) that ACTUALLY knew their network well enough, and all the complexities, etc. to bail them out when the shtf.... and that's just the way it is in the real world.... btdt.

edited: I use T-Mobile towers... I could tell something was amiss with data yesterday :D. So I played wif my dawg ....
