Printing Manuals

Anyone here still like to print technical docs/manuals instead of scrolling through a PDF? I was wondering what the best store is for such prints, please. I've done some smaller docs at Fedex before, but are there better options that the cognoscenti are aware of? Perhaps mail order? Cheers.

I print a lot of manuals at work for the engines we sell, but we have a Canon duplex printer that works pretty well.

In addition to FedEx office, Staples and Office depot will also print for you. Can't say which one is cheaper these days.
One thing to note is that is is usually cheaper (cost per page) to have one of the people print at Fedex print on one of their high speed printers in back, rather than renting the PC and printing out on their laser printers.

If you know any teachers, Office Depot prints for them crazy cheap. My wife showed me a receipt of her printing not long ago that a regular customer would have paid something like $45, for her it was $12.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up ordering online through Fedex and collected from my local store. They currently have a 25% off deal if you spend $50. It was nice to configure it all online and just collect.

I haven't but that's a good idea. I spent half the time while changing my Cayman clutch flipping back and forth through the pdf manual on my computer.

When working on the wiring on the 930, I have large poster size printings I hang up in my garage to refer to.

I thought I’d go ahead and print my cayman manual so I pulled up the pdf. 6000 pages! So much for printing the manual.

I like having manuals as PDFs, but when I need a repair, I print the page(s) I need for that. Having to flip through thick manuals while at the vehicle is just a bit annoying.

That is what I do. Often it is just a page from the PET parts manual with the exploded view that I print. I do have the Bentley manual. I don't need another manual taking up space. So much of any manual is stuff I will never be doing anyway. My engine if rebuilt, and should last long than I will be driving. Same with the transmission. Suspension is done, brakes are done.

When I changed the cayman clutch, flipping through the manual on the computer was probably a 1/4 of the time required since the details are in several sections. Next time I’ll print the sections.

I printed off my 996TT manuals. 4 books. A couple thousand pages. I have gone through the index pages and highlighted everything I though I would need. OCD I guess.
I print them for free at work (don`t tell the boss he`s a prick)

No way I could print this much at home. I don’t pay the printer invoice at work but my understanding is we pay by the color page. No cost for black and white prints.
