Covid sucks. I'm...
Running my trains.
I'm a little burnt on Covid right now. My boss had a heart attack. He's going into surgery tomorrow. I get to run the practice for eight weeks in a world of Covid worry. Inconsistent CDC guidelines. Unknowns. 50% of patients furloughed. If I get Covid, 14 employees get a two week layoff, the boss will lose the practice, and 80 or so patients get to "take two weeks off" because they came in to see "me". Never mind they are out partying like it's 1999 with little or no care in the world. Enough. I've even removed myself from my wife/daughter (she just started summer camp) so if they get it, it won't take me down. Now I'm really missing out, but that's the playing field for the time being. So- I fired up the unused trainset, and had to run the trains at full speed to blow off the track corrosion. My point and shoot couldn't keep up. Seeing the trainset after some time, it reminded me of how a trainset is a lifelong project. You never finish it, just keep on going in a work in progress. Even with my covidcation over spring, I never even stepped one foot near the trainset, too busy with the tractor projects. I would say I need to simplify- but the smell of the burning electricity/brushes on the engines was delightful! ![]() Below are some buildings I made a while back. I could spend the rest of my life weathering stick buildings. Too many projects. Not enough time. Did I mention the 911 needs the front window resealed and new bushings? I am my dad, and I'm sick of Covid. Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 06-25-2020 at 05:03 PM.. |

I love that old C&O stuff. Southern too.
Man, I feel for you. A good friend is a dentist over Palmyra way and is solo. Just had a 3rd operatory installed the week before the shutdown. Settled on his dream farm a month before. He was sweating bullets but seems to be ok. Stay safe. Wearing a full face shield or???

truth (for Scott)
I need a go fund me project to subsidize all the projects in this one room. I tripped over my dad's porsche parts, and then gleamed at all my aging tonewoods. Too much stress. Too little time. Too many projects.... In one room! First world problems!!!! Arghhhhh!!!! ![]() Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 06-25-2020 at 06:12 PM.. |

Hey Greg.. I've got a lot of southern mixed in. I know your guy. He will be fine, just more grey hairs for the wear.

You need a GoPro camera! That would be fun.

I can spend months away from my layout, but when I return it is a quiet, meditative space.
Thank you for the work you are doing.

That’s a seriously cool track setup. Thanks for sharing with us. Now totally jealous and I’m on eBay looking at trains.

Jeeezus Chriiiiiiist, that's not a "train set". The oval Lionel set with like 20' of track and 6 cars that I had as a kid, that's a train set. You have a rail road line.

Sorry about your "real life" issues Ron, but glad you've found an outlet recreating the whole Norfolk Southern line

What gauge is this set, it looks bigger than "H-O" ?
With the size of my basement, I have been looking into an "N" gauge set to fit more in. |

When dealing with a situation you did not create, you can only do the best you can do.
Hang in there, it's worth it. Keep your eyes on the road ahead, and all your instincts will take you where you need to be. BTW, your diversions are awesome! Last edited by DanielDudley; 06-26-2020 at 04:51 AM.. |
