Anime on Netflix

i grew up on the stuff. thanks to Covid, i do have more couch-time than i liked.

thankfully ,there is a crapload of Anime on Netflix!! some of the stuff is so bizarre and over the top. some deep deep rated R..with a Capital R stuff. let me know if you want to know which one. keep the kids away.

but there were two recent standouts. both "boxing" anime.

Megalobox and Levius. great stories. any other Anime fans here? super funny how all the ladies have such ginormous boobs. hahha. and the guys have the best hairdos.

I've noticed most of the Netflix anime is loaded with fan-fare, and follows the 'depressed adolescent facing adversity of emotion' type of storyline. Some of it has OK story, in fact my wife enjoyed Seven Deadly Sins.

If you have time, check out some classics like Gunbuster, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, Fist of the North Star.

I lived in Japan from approx 1978-1980 and again from 1983-1985. I watched as much anime as I could the first time, and caught a bunch the second time too. I have lots of fond memories. It was all rated G as far as I can remember other than the violence. There's a ton out there now, but it's so hard to wade through the good from the bad. I don't watch that much TV anyway. I did watch some back when I had cable. Occasionally, I'd see something on Adult Swim, I think.

I have 5 of 6 of these that I bought when I was a teen. I didn't (still don't) read Japanese, but you can mostly follow the story.
