Blue Ruin

I love movies like this. Believable and brutal.
On Netflix...worth a watch.

steve,
I followed your recommendation and, after watching it last evening, I totally concur - that was an amazing movie!!!

^^^ Glad you liked it...it's hard to find good movies on Netflix sometimes.
This movie is one of their better ones...the 90 minutes of it seemed like half that.

It reminded me of some dark dreams that I've had...but nobody gets hurt in the dreams.
Stuff that could happen to anyone...given the right situation.

Good movie.

Apparently the lead and the director had been making movies together but their families and their lives happened forcing them to face reality. Nevertheless, they decided to make one last movie (crowdfunded it).

^^^ My fav character in the movie was Dwight's high school friend 'Ben'...the arms provider.
He played the part of a 'true buddy' as real as could be.
Dwight was fortunate to have him as a friend.

Dwight saved Ben’s ass when he took the head shot at Ted. Good friend.

I liked his statement.."I had to wait until he took aim at you"

And then Ben protected Dwight when he took the battery out of Dwight’s truck so that Dwight couldn’t follow him into danger again. A nice way of showing them looking out for the other, potentially at their own expense.

You have Dwight and Ben reversed.

Excellent movie. I liked Dwight’s grit.

What kind of gun was it when Ben switched Dwight over to buckshot?

^^^ I listened to the clip above many times and all I could get was 'may 14' so I'm guessing that was the date he bought it??
I don't know guns, so I am of no help.

^^^ Ahh...ok.
What is a Mini 14? Smaller than a 22 caliber?

Mini 14 is chambered the same as an AR-15 (.223). It’s a smaller version of the military M14.

It’s a nice, durable and reliable rifle for varmints. Some controversy regarding its accuracy.

Ok..thanks.
Dwight seemed as comfortable with rifles as I am. Good thing he had Ben as a friend.

Well don't go to Wikipedia for a plot. It's just one big spoiler! Sounds like a great movie though if you like revenge and sadness.

Yep...I just love revenge and sadness.

Wikipedia may not be your best source of movie recommendations.

M14 has a different caliber and different from those others, despite the name.

M14 pew pews a big heavy .308 slug(Russian 7.62×51) which developed into the M-21 and M-25 sniper rifles.
Available accessories include leather spandex hot chick strippers and cold steel katana.
