				#7

BMW imported something like 200 of these in 2003. This is #7. Mystery as to how she ended up in Anchorage. Wasn’t looking for another bike. But mine now. Bone stock and less than 5000 miles. Which creates its own problems. Fluids and brakes need done. Tires are ancient. But the engine is so smooth. Looking through the stockpile of parts, she’s getting Ohlins, a Remus exhaust, San Jose ram air kit. Power commander, a reverse pattern shifter and Dymag carbon fiber rims. This is the dream bike.

Looks pretty sporty based on the partial photo. Need more pics. I'm not a bike guy, WTH? That sounds very odd. Would that be like converting your car to have 1-2 on the far right and 5-6 on the far left of the H? That sounds confusing as heck, and possibly an anti-theft device.

First gear is up. 2-6 down. I have big clown feet and would occasionally scrape my foot trying to upshift while leaned over. Of course this has no use on public roads. But I got used to it. And I does make a tremendous anti theft device. Got it from a guy on pelican. He said it had been made for a boxer cup racer team, but rejected by the rule makers.

What is the head angle on that thing, too pretty to ride, almost. How big are those front brakes?

Beautiful bike. And I’m with you on the reverse shifting. So much easier to up shift coming out of some serious right side lean angle and not trying to finagle your boots under the lever while someone gets around you while you’re bouncing off the rev limiter. Like you it sounds, I got used to it on my race bikes and converted my street bikes. Ride carefully Tony | ||

The tele lever suspension let you go into a corner very fast. As good or better than the best. But they didn’t have power coming out of it. Any Japanese 600 would just accelerate away. So any edge I could get was critical. Going to make my canyon dream bike. Shame I now live in a state with no curvy roads.

Beautiful Boxer Cup. In my opinion one of the most beautiful bikes BMW ever made.
