Now that I think about it, anything with red dye in it is probably bad for you, so caveat emptor.

I love it too, but I found bamboo shoots hard to get unless it’s a Chinese holiday. Wood ear fungus was also a hunt but did find it at a oriental market. The secret is to use all Chinese ingredients, not just the bulk stuff at the grocery store.

I modified the recipe, but this is the one I make: https://youtu.be/FMnDWdbT31s

Thx!

My wife and I thank you guys!

She winged it based on what we had in the house, and a combination of the above recipes... Came out pretty damn good!

Looks great!

That all looks fantastic!

My favorite is Tonkatsu Ramen, and I finally got some yesterday as takeout from my favorite place, after 5 months of jonesing for it.

You guys are killing me here.

I could never produce Asian delights such as you guys do, and I am always impressed with the cooking talent around here. I stopped with rice.

She and I had Chinese takeout for lunch today, never had been to the place, and it's the best Chinese food I've ever had.

Just a small hole in the wall, with the most gracious people. You could tell they are just trying to stay alive. When I drove up, the owner was carrying in the necessary items for the restaurant.

I tipped well, and intend to thank them later as much as they thanked me as I was leaving.

Shameless plug for them China House, Austin Texas.

Oh yeah, the hot and sour soup is excellent! Another NO vote, you do not.

My son recently moved from Dallas to Austin. I'm not sure where exactly in Austin he is right now. My wife is visiting. We'll probably visit Austin more often now (we like Austin). I'll keep this place in mind. If it's anywhere near the son, we'll definitely check it out.

We've had some great food in Austin.

I got crab fried rice from a great Thai place in Houston today, Rim Tanon Modern Thai Street Food.

The missus and I love Rim Tanon.

Bump to thank cantdrv55 for starting this thread.

Once again, my wife made a great 'Mild and Sour' tonight, thanks to input and encouragement from you guys.....

I love Hot & Sour. I will have to give it a try.
