5hit day and then cows!

Yesterday was a crappy day at work. I had to be a bit confrontational with someone in another department not doing their job. Then at 4:15 one of my team members presented me with a kick in the nutz legacy problem with a part number that was not changed and now we have some potential backward compatibility issues with an international customer...

I came home, had a beer and supper and was beginning to unwind and poured a whisky... then I noticed a bunch of black cows in my hayfield...

Lots of crop damage, they ruined a gate and tore up my fence into my north 1/4...

This was this morning with the owner of the cows trying to split his cows from my herd and drove them home...

By 9:00 this morning we had the cows home and I had my fence and gate all patched up.

Ouch. Sorry about your troubles. Me, I just sat in my office all day. Not a single patient on account of the Corona. A couple a phone calls, five cups of coffee, chatting up the nurses..

if you see a red/black Triumph motorcycle approaching, that's me. dont shoot. :) bummer for the troubles.

But Happy Canada Day anyway

Any day involving riding a horse cannot be a total bust.

Cows seem like such clueless critters till they see something they want to eat, then they will come up with a plan.

Glad you got things put back together.

Cheers Richard

THIS!

Growing up, we often had a beef or two. The black angus were escape artists. I swear that they were olympic quality jumpers and acrobats....

Sorry about the troubles, but what a place to be in when things go haywire.

used to ride one of these..
well I was able to straddle it..
ah to have the stretch of years gone past..
Herr Heil..saw his farm go from 3 legged stool to overhead sucking machines..
my toy horse's are mounted on the now automated stall walls..
his grand kids talk of his memories of me to this day..
and then there was that time I brought home all those little pigs......
yeah..
live was good..

... Could have been worse. Could have been a bull and having him knock up your cows.

hay is a crop? Round here people pay to have it cut down

Mowing it is the first step in harvesting it. I guess if you mow it down and leave it to rot it isn’t crop. If you gather it and store it, it’s a crop.

I was on my quad following the horses. There was a bull with them and I think my bull may have tagged at least one of the cows.

It was fine at the end of the day. If you have cows; they will get out. If you have livestock, you will wind up with some dead stock. It’s part of the business.

Thanks for all of the nice comments on our place.
