"Virtual" Annual Physical
 

So I just had my annual physical via my smartphone, due to the Covid 19 protocols mandated by others.

Frankly, it wasn't really any different than the last several annual physicals I had since ACA passed a few years back.

"So my wife has a GYN appointment coming up - how is THAT supposed to work" I asked.

Laughter ensued.

think you wasted your time..
certainly didn't get your $$ worth..
I like my Dr..
he seems to care about my $$$ and health..
so He's going to earn it..
by looking and touching me skin..
same Dr's for years..
recent visit..
his new NP goes..
how long you going to ignore this mole..
now I have a appt. with Derm..

As a geezer, I go to my dermatologist every 6 months, and my ophthalmologists every 12 months. I did my yearly physical back in January.

Having grown up in Hawaii in the era before sun screen was common, I was VERY well tanned, and I could stay outside all day long at the beach and not get burned. Now I am paying for that with something burned off of my every 6 months.

I can't imagine a virtual physical, unless it is just a check up between real visits.

I also get my teeth cleaned every 6 months by my dentists.

I suspect most teenage boys think working as a gynecologist would be great. Back in the olden days of film I processed film at a professional photo lab. We had many doctors as customers that took pictures of the parts of the body of their medical practice. Often I would get a roll of film that was just boobs, nothing but boobs. One doctor was writing a book on gynecological diseases.

That roll of 35 mm slides was enough to make most men turn celibate. Nothing but close up photos of some women with real issues. It was difficult to mount the slides and avert my eyes to avoid trauma to my eyes.

We had photos of stuff worse that that.

Yes, my Doctor is over it.
She also thinks "virtual check-ups" are a bunch of bull.
At least I got my maintenance scrips refilled.
Funny thing is, to get my blood work done, I have to physically go into the office; the lab is literally 30FT across the lobby from her office, so go figure...

I would like to comment further, but that would require this thread being moved over to PARF.

don't be afraid to dance on this side..
