Ever wear socks that don't match?

Love my wife. However, she is just not good at housekeeping . Id do my own laundry, but she gets all pissy about it , so I let her have at it. We have, more or less, the traditional chores in our marriage .
I probably have 400 socks, but maybe only can find 3 matching pairs at any one given time .
I just bought a 12 pack 2 weeks ago, and this morning, can only find one of those socks
Every morning , it is the same ritual, I dig through the 4 different drawers that she may put them in, the 3 laundry baskets , the couch in the spare room where she is half done folding laundry, the dryer etc.
Today I am done, one green sock, and one blue sock. Shoot me . My underwear are clean
I am wearing them with shorts ,and work boots by the way

I buy the same socks in the same colour to avoid this very issue.

I am starting to believe that Fastfred and Vash threads have a great deal in common!

i am not a morning person... mismatched socks happens occasionally... once had a reebok on one foot and a nike on the other.

Ha! If this thread lasts until next week, I'm waiting on a pair of Pink Pig socks I ordered from blipshift. (But if I wait too long to post a pic, it'll be singular, not a pair.)

My wife and 6 year-old don't seem to mind wearing non-matching socks. Somehow, they can pull it off. I can't, or maybe just won't. But we have a nutty friend who has left the house with mismatched shoes...and not intentionally so!

Mismatched socks don’t bother me.
I’ve got a drawer full of orphan socks.
Whenever I need to (read no clean socks left) I take a set of mismatched. Doesn’t bother me one bit. The do need to be about the same length though.

Whenever someone tells me my socks don’t match, I answer that I have another pair like that at home.
I like to live on the edge, mismatched socks is a big part of that lifestyle.

Not on purpose. I think I've done it a handful of times over the years, usually when I'm getting up and going to work in the dark. I may end up with a black sock and a really dark blue sock. I don't think it's happened in a few years. The missus keeps the socks together these days, so I pull a bundle out of the drawer, and it may not end up being the color that I wanted, but they will match each other.

The fashion police in my house is strong since my wife used to work in the 'rag' industry.
She pretty much makes sure my 'GrrrAnimals' all match. She really hates my 'lawn mowing' look of rippy T-shirts and matching shorts. Why do I always have to look like a bum when I cut the grass?
Because it's easier to get dirty when I do.

I can only hope and aspire to be as good as Vash threads someday. Taking that one as a compliment

Incandescent light in the bedroom trips me up like this more often than not.

Might just have to stop buying black socks...

Have to go with the Costco puma socks. Half black, and half grey per pack. OCD will kill you, but like any normal human will notices your socks... let alone judge you for them....

I used to have a professor in grad school. Instead of the usual shirt and tie uniform of physicians, he wore a colorful polo shirt with perfectly matching socks. Every day was different. We always noticed, and we thought it was sartorially cool, even for Santa Barbara.

The 2 different types of elastics would bother me. Colour? Like I care.

I probably own 20 pair and most are white. The other 1/2 dozen are either black or navy blue and I don't really care if I get that wrong.

We've developed a pretty simple system for lonely socks. When we do laundry all the unmatched singles get put into the pedestal drawer under the dryer. No where else. One place only.

Every few months I pull the drawer out and match them up. If on that particular day you have no match, you go in the trash.

Ruthless.
