Agree that it looks fantastic. The 2-door seems like it has better proportions that the 4-door. We have 5 in the Noah household, so maybe we'll hold out until one of the kids goes off to college in a few years...

i think the new Bronco is awesome. awesome looking at least. i bet the aftermarket groups are salivating at the potential.

Yup. And using the 2.3 and 2.7 means there are tons of engine mods out there already. That 2.3 with an intake, tune, and downpipe is a nasty little 4 banger.

I read that there are already 200 approved accessories so it'll be great to see everything they come up with. Reminds me of the heyday of getting the James Duff Bronco catalog way back when.

When I had my first Bronco at 16 that catalog was like the Sears Wishbook and Victoria's Secret catalog all in one! :D

I watched the bronco release video and it looks like a great truck, for a new car the styling is pretty appealing.

In the video Ford states that Bronco was the first American SUV. The International Scout debuted 5 years (1961) before the Bronco (1966) and it is the first Amercian SUV.

How do they get away saying that when it is not true? Serious question.

Because no one's left from International to call them out on that?

From a distance (i.e. going the opposite way on the road), those early Broncos look just like Scouts.

It's good to have the Bronco back - and you don't even have to get out and twist the damn locker hubs now...

Glad it has a short wheelbase, so it can do serious bad road work.

Most will surely sell to poseurs, but that is a good thing as it lowers the used price for people that need one after the fad wears off for the new buyers.

It seems almost everyone wants to rewrite history these days.

Lockers front and rear, and mirrors that stay on with the doors removed.
They really are going after the Wrangler.
Only the Wranglers with the Rubicon package have lockers.
Right now, my jeep has no side mirrors because the doors are off.
I still gotta get the aftermarket brackets so I can take them off the doors and mount them to the door hinges.

I like the simplicity of the Jeep. No electrical in the doors, no TV screen on the dash.

I noticed the exact same thing, you can get the base model with the off road suspension, 35” tires, and full lockers. Also a vinyl floor and hose off marine vinyl seating. I’ll take one with a stick please.

If you have power windows like most Wranglers you have electrical in the doors, and the new Jeeps all have at least a small screen.

Can’t see whether the Bronco Sport will have the removable doors and roof (I think the answer is “no” but I can’t see it stated anywhere in all the stuff on the Ford Bronco page). I’d only consider the Sport - the “regular” Bronco is just too darn big. So I’m back to 2 Door Wranglers (which is where I was in the first place).

I like the fact that they don’t have video screens plopped into the dash as well. A lot. Very few cars integrate them well and don’t look like an afterthought and they’d be particularly out of place (and a theft magnet / vandalism magnet) in an open top / open side vehicle IMO. Simpler = better.

video screens for GPS is a good idea for this type of vehicle

I think the Bronco Sport is a unibody wanna-be SUV.
