Can you identify this model VW?

Was in front of me last night. Nice looking little wagon!

I didn't see any insignia - anyone have an idea what model and year it is?

I don't know my VW's very well, so appreciate any help.

Sorry the pic isn't better......thanks!

That was fast...thanks, Patrick.

Based on Internet pics.....maybe a later model - like a 2013-14.

What's the skinny on these?

Pretty dependable?

speeder 07-17-2020 06:25 PM

It was fast but it was also wrong. It’s a Tiguan, present generation.

FWIW, there was no Passat wagon in 2010 or years close to 2010.

When I saw the thread title I thought of the SP2.

Seems too wagony to be a Tiguan. Maybe a Golf Alltrack?

We had two 2013 Tiguan. I’m going to say no to the Tiguan. Too low and wide.

speeder 07-17-2020 06:53 PM

I was thinking current gen Tiguan but I’m off by a couple details. It’s close. I’m going to say Golf sportwagen, 2014-16 or so. VW did not import B7 Passat wagons to the USA, AFAIK, just sedans. :)

New Tiguan:

2019 Golf Alltrack (per Steve's suggestion):

2013 Passat (per Patrick's suggestion):

I'm leaning towards the Passat, myself. Look at the tailpipe configurations.

OTOH.....

How about the 2015 Jetta Sportwagon......

A buddy of mine is a VW expert and he says Golf Sportwagon for sure.

Jeff Alton 07-17-2020 07:36 PM

^^^^^^ correct.

tevake 07-17-2020 08:06 PM

I just today picked up my new to me 2013 Jetta sportwagen tdi.
Nice wagon, drives well and goes interstate speeds comfortably.
Sipping fuel.
It's retuned by VW and has an extended warranty, first car Ive ever had with one.

It's a small vehicle but roomy inside.
I'm allready thinking about a tent that mounts off the back of the wagon.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1595041199.jpg
Sorry don't have the rear view.

This sort of tent would make car camping more comfortable.

Mine has roof racks for a kayak/surfboard, but not as big as those in your pic Baz.
And a trailer hitch mounted, I'm thinking bike rack in the receiver.

Cheers Richard

Yes there was. We had one. They made them 07-10 iirc.
Ours was the 3.6 with a VR6. I blew it up on the way to the hospital. Problem on those engines with the cam bolts.
Lights are too modern - those things are 2018 or so and on.

Congrats, Rich! That's really crazy about the timing of my post and your purchase today. What are the odds, huh?

Please feel free to add more info about your car either in this or another thread - either way works for me. More pics, especially. ;)

I've always liked wagons myself but am particular about their looks.

More than anything I miss the two Volvo 145's I had and would love to own another one day - but they are hard to find - so I always keep my eyes open for other more newer (hence more available) brands/models. I love the VW brand so this one I saw last night really caught my eye because of the brand and the looks of it.

I think it's quite sporty and has nice lines!

I'm assuming yours is a manual transmission?

Like the tent idea too. Please keep us posted and again - congrats! SmileWavy

Looks an awful lot like my wife's 2017 Golf, non-Alltrack, AWD Sportwagen in silk blue metallic. it's a fantastic little car, with an entertaining turbo motor and paddle shifters (she wouldn't do a manual). In October, we'll be buying it out of lease.

It's weird that VW thought jacking the car up a couple inches and putting dopey cladding on it and calling it an Alltrack would make it more appealing.

Thanks Baz, I am stoked on my new handsome wagon. Seems like a lot of Vdub thinking around here these days. Both me and Dafischer getting one this week.

My sportwagen has a good service history and drives well. And was pretty affordable for what it is and with the extended warranty.

I just updated my thread posted earlier, when I was considering the purchase and received a lot of helpful input here! Thanks again Pelicans.
