MotoGP20

No race spoiler content in this post other than pre race stuff. So good to have this racing back and as usual Mr Crutchlow puts himself out with a warm up crash that concussed him. Brutal conditions with temps up to 130 F on the track. Imagine what it's like under the leather. Tire wear will be key.

Marquez out, for awhile. Check it out.

flatbutt 07-19-2020 02:22 PM

He really got whacked by the bike. I guess he still hasn't gotten over his red mist. It would've been an epic recovery from his run off but 10 points is 10x better than a DNF.

Had a similar fracture in my bad crash-plate and screws. Hurts like hell occasionally today. Fell on it a second time and it broke again at the end of the plate, required another surgery, more metal and screws.

I thought it was an entertaining race. I was surprised it was televised on regular TV. my wife was watching it in the kitchen and told me it was on. Haven't kept up with it for years. onboard cameras have come a long way. So have the lean angles.

flatbutt 07-20-2020 01:41 PM

a lean angle of 61 just amazes me. The people developing tires capable of that deserve a lot of credit.

Marquez is not human. He broke his humerus 5 days ago and he's going to race this Sunday. If he podiums this weekend everybody else should make themselves comfortable with fighting for second place.

He’s running FP3 at Jerez.

The guy is nutz but man what a competitor.

yellowperil 07-25-2020 09:01 AM

He's not going to race.

150 F on track! That's brutal on both man and machine.

This may be the first time I've seen such a gap between 1st and 3rd.... 21 years. What a great scene that was in parc ferme'.

Yamaha has issues with their engines with another mechanical failure. Ducati had a heartbreak when their man in 2nd place had his engine blow up too.

rfuerst911sc 07-26-2020 02:04 PM

I generally don't watch Moto GP but I did today ............. I think I will be watching in the future .

dlockhart 07-26-2020 05:33 PM

Rossi put on a defensive racing clinic

flatbutt 08-08-2020 08:52 AM

and that is how you do Qualifying! Take THAT F1!

flatbutt 08-16-2020 05:09 AM

If you want to see what LUCK looks like watch the GP race.

astrochex 08-16-2020 05:49 AM

^Man is that the truth. Exciting race, even without the luck.

I've never EVER seen that look on Vales face.

Even M2 had an incident. Maybe a new track revision coming.

Rossi truly escaped death by mere fractions of a second.

My buddy sent me these screen grabs from Rossi’s camera.

Yikes. He had a look of terror in his eyes. If it didn't kill him it may well have cost him an arm or both.

This is two in a row for Zarco. I'm not saying he was entirely to blame but two in a row...
