VHS/DVDs of Le Mans
Hi Gang,
I am a huge fan of Le Mans (especially when Porsche is running) and I always stayed up and recorded the 24 Hr of Le Mans. I have recorded the races starting in 1998 and have almost every year since then that was televised. If the race was televised for 24 hours, I'd stay up and record them all. So, the question is, now that VHS is getting a little long in the tooth, please don't throw them out. I have been looking for tapes of 1998, as I had a glitch and lost some of my VHS tapes. I have the Duke Video of the race, which is excellent, but I prefer the full race and not a "Review" or similar shortened version. I assume others are/were equally anal about recording Le Mans and I don't want to think about any good tapes going to the landfill! I'm sending this to start a thread about how we save and maybe create a library of these awesome races. I have many of the snippets of the races going back to the 60's & I assume others have done the same. Are there any years you would like? I might be able to share mine... Thx LarryT 74 911 |

We got rid of our VCRs years ago. We gave all out old tapes to a friend of my wife that is on disability, and still watches VHS tapes. She has a ton of them from other people's collections that got dumped.
I record the Le Mans races on our DVR as televised but I just delete them when I have finished them. I am a fan of Le Mans, but not to your degree.
