Except they haven't gone broke. All the kneeling stuff, the name changes, Trump getting involved, etc hasn't even made a blip in the NFL's overall revenue. Perhaps the age old lesson of no publicity is bad publicity?

if the NFL signs a two year contract with cbs or nbc or fox or ALL THREE, and then the sponsors start getting negative feedback because viewership is down, the nfl doesn't feel the pinch until the next time the contracts are negotiated. Which could be years way.

But the sponsors looose sales, and the network looses sponsorship money.
So the next time the contracts are up for bid .........

The NFL quietly shut down the kneeling thing back in 2016 when their TV viewership numbers started to slip. That’s why it quickly went from a bunch of players kneeling to a small handful. They probably reminded the players that declining revenue would impact them as well, and that was that. You can see the opposite in the NBA right now, all of the social justice warrior players who won’t say boo about the human rights atrocities in China and HK because it would hit them in the wallet. Ultimately these are a bunch of rich athletes who primarily care about getting paid above all else.

No joke, they actually thought that would be a good idea.
Evidently they figure the players aren't smart enough to tell the difference.
Probably true for some.

You would almost think the players would LOVE playing without a crowd there.

It puts them on par with golfers who have to have absolute silence while trying to hit a little white ball which isn't even moving.

(See what I did there? 'on par', get it?)

I've played baseball and I've played golf.
Baseball was easier ;)

You won't get an argument from me there, sammyg2.
I once hit a bucket of balls at a driving range, or should say I tried to hit them.
Came away wondering how on earth anyone could find it relaxing to play that game.
