I Gooned It, But Look What I Found
I told Flatbutt I had some .38 S&W he could have. I had bought a bunch for my Grandfather's Colt .38 Officers Model. I only shoot the revolver once a year and I have 500 rounds or so.
Me to Flatbutt: "Mi ammo es su ammo." Felt like a champ. Oops. Pro tip: See if you have the right inventory before offering a part of said inventory to guys from Jersey After the storm passed this morning I confidently went to the safe to grab a few boxes and mail them. Everything in the safe was .38 Colt Long. Ruh Roh. I called my son, at work, which I never do. "Dad, the Colt we have is .38 Long, the place to look is in the barn safe we store ammo in...we should have some we bought for the for the .38 we inherited from Rife." Rife was my wife's mother's second husband. Great Dude. Off I stride to the barn. Zippy .38 S&W. I did find some things I forgot we had, especially the below. I have done some homework but I am interested in any real world opinions. Before I post pictures, Tom, I am sorry! Anyone here have any info one the below? I forgot I had it...I think it came from Rife. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1596578681.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1596578681.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1596578681.jpg |

That is pretty neat.
That .38 LC is not bad in my wife's Airweight S&W, it is a bit snappy with the +P, likes the LC or wadcutters |
All good Paul. The offer is as good as the gift.
Yer' killin' me Craigster! |
Watch "Two Hands". An early Heath Ledger movie.
Sketchy and stupid young dude making it. |
Why would a civilian need blank cartridges? I've never understood that.
Police/Military for training - yes. |

Also, Freedom. |
Some nail guns use blank 38s to drive a nail into concrete.

Good news and bads news.
The bad news, at least for me, is that I am an idiot. The good news is I found the box of .38 S&W, 145 gr lead. PM your address, Tom and I will send the remaining 45 rounds your way:cool: So, yesterday was Tropical Storm day and the power was off in our Yorktown Office (still is) so I spent the morning looking at the value of those old blank cartridges - a surprising amount, actually. The whole antique ammo market is a world I knew nothing about. Here is a good website: Antique Ammunition: Antique Shells, Antique Rifle Ammunition, Antique Ammo Anyway, after talking to some folks on the phone, they asked me if I had any other obsolete stuff. Drawing on my goon from yesterday, I informed them I had to go take a look. That is when I found the box of .38, under a bunch of shotgun shells. I also found some 30-40 KRAG ammo and Target .38 from Speer. Let me know, Tom. |

I have a plastic box of 38 ammo with a $4.95 price tag on it. Ah the good old days when ammo was cheap.
