Car tracker

What would you guys recommend to track the location of a car without the driver knowing it? Since Apple changed their 'Find my iPhone' feature, I cant use that anymore without them knowing it to see where my kids are going.. (and no, I dont need a lesson on parenting) Just need some ideas. Ive seen some that plug into the OBD port, but that wont work cause I'm sure they would see that. Some others I've seen, the battery only lasts @2 weeks so that would be tough as well. Those Tile things only work if you're range of bluetooth, so thats a no go also.. Do they make one with a super long life battery? Would be hard to install something without them knowing/seeing me do it. Any ideas?
