Shipping a used scissors car lift from a residence

Looking at buying a lift from a private party in suburban NJ but they are unable to put it on a pallet for pick up. Any ideas?

How far are you from the seller? I met a tilt bed tow truck to move mine when I had purchased it used. Quick and easy and safe. Edit: Mine was a scissor lift so might not be applicable to your situation. Edit again! Just re-read the title...

I'm a little less than 900 miles away. : ( ...but do like the idea of a tilt bed with a winch!

I'd try your local moving companies. If they can't make the drive, then maybe they can take the palletized and strapped cargo to a trucking company. Someone's got to have a backhaul that they can put the lift on.

Tilt and load is the right answer. But 900 miles isn't practical. It needs to be put on a skid, and transferred to a common carrier, or you go get it. Personally, at 900 miles away I wouldn't even consider it.

Whatever you do, don't use one of those "hot shot" guys. He'll wreck it a mile from your home.

When I bought mine I attached wheels to it using u bolts and dolly wheels. Made it real easy to move around. I rented a tilting trailer pushed it right on and off and into place then removed the wheels. I got the idea from a thread on here but I can't seem to locate it now

I bought mine it came with free shipping but I had to put forks on my tractor to go get it from the truck. It was too heavy so I had to split it into two loads to pick it up with my tractor. Good luck Tony

Cherry picker will get it in and out of a pick up truck. Or onto a pallet.
