My German "girl friend".
She's not actually my girl friend as such but I'm doing the best I can to help and support her.
She moved to Australia about 3 years ago with her troubled 12 year old son to marry an Aussie guy she met online. (Her son is somewhere on the autism scale and he's a handful to say the least) The Aussie guy travelled to Germany and brought her back and married her here. I was the photographer at the wedding because I know the guy through another friend. So anyway... Fast forward to 12 months ago, her husband walks out on her and she's now broke with her troubled son and only part way through her immigration process $$$. She doesn't qualify for any government help and is having difficulty finding work because of Covid-19. She is truly "on the bones of her arse" as we say here in Australia. And my real GF is starting to get suspicious that there may be something more to it than friendship. I told her there's nothing to it but it doesn't help that my German friend is smoking hot. I'm sure she will be fine in the end because she's fiercely independent. I've talked to her about returning to Germany but she wants to stay here. Was that a big part of the reason she came here in the first place? I've seen this many times. People make rash decisions and go with their heart only to end up somewhere they don't want to be. Anyway there are lots of lessons in her story.

You got to wonder about a woman who agrees to be a mail order bride AND the guy who would go for it. So, the motivations and expectations are already questionable. Sounds like the son is the boat anchor in the deal, potentially a deal breaker. She needs to get a job. There's a saying- "when the going gets tough, the tough get going." I don't know what sort of recourse she has against the ex, and I suspect it's not worth pursuing financially or emotionally. Is there no resources for her from the government?
Your current GF has a legitimate reason to be concerned. Depending on how serious you are about her, you might want to consider her feelings. Imagine it was your GF doing the best to help and support some hot guy in a similar situation.

Ok... My wife, myself and my two sons own quite a number of homes. We have 15 rentals in total. We have a brand new house at Northfield that she may be able to stay in for free for six months.
If that's of some help, please let me know and I'll put it forward to the clan.

She wasn't really a mail order bride. They met on a dating site and he travelled to Germany to meet up with her and things went on from there. Yes her son was a big part of why things didn't work out. He just can't sit still and is into everything. There was some sort of violent incident between her son and her ex but there were no injuries. He left shortly after this incident (probably a good thing). She's looking for a job frantically but Covid-19 has nobbled the job market. She's also looking at training courses to broaden her options.
I told my GF that she needs to understand that I can't turn my back on the German lady and her son. She seems to be OK with it for now but there's certainly some suspicion lurking but frankly if my GF doesn't trust me she can get stuffed. She's not an Australian citizen so she doesn't qualify for any social security which also means she has to pay for her son to attend school. In short she's in her late 40s and financially stuffed. If it was up to me she'd be on the first plane back to Germany.

That's fine. But I hate to see kids suffer in these situations. Also...let me know what qualifications she has or work experience. I have a very large network of businesses I deal with.

Careful of what you type on the internet, dewolf. You might attract all sorts of riff raff.

I knew I liked you guys! Maybe I'll move to Austrailia. You look out for somebody else and some day somebody will look out for you. Nice going, boys.

Get off my lawn!

My German girlfriend lives in my garage, and I take her out in public and flog on her all the time. She drips oil on occasion but I clean it up. I just feed her gasoline and change the oil and she loves to run.
She has cost me lots of blood sweat and tears but after 25 years she is happy to be mine.

Sorry gents. I can't post pics because her ex husband owns a 356 Porsche and he may be a member here.
(I have no way of knowing one way or the other)
