330 Bar for the Raptor
330 BAR or about 4800 PSI was achieved in the Space X Raptor rocket engine main chamber.
500,000 lbs of sustained lift from a methane & oxygen fuel mixture. Just thinking of the dynamics involved makes my head swim ![]() Elon, I really want to drive the Starship to Mars. I promise I won't exceed 25,000 mph

Imagine the fuel pumps that are required for that much volume and pressure while being really light.
The affinity laws say it isn't quite unpossible, but it's close. |

Watching a show on the F1 engines in the Saturn 5, each engine had 10,000 gallons of fuel pumped per second. Actually, I think it was 10,000 gallons of O2 but I cant remember. Even total fuel that is 50,000 to feed the five engines. Per second.

That is incomprehensible for my feeble brain and it hurts to think about it.
The temps and pressures at the nozzles are fascinating. So much more than my Estes ever had and I thought they were pretty cool Think what you like about Elon Musk but he gets shyt done. Tunnel boring, rockets to the space station and returning to land on a platform, very successful EV car company that’s only getting better and more efficient, battery technology. I don’t think that guy ever sits still and our world is better for it. Tony |

I worked on the Delta IV rocket...........The RS-68 engine blended Liquid Oxygen and Liquid Hydrogen, 680,000 pounds of thrust........each turbo pump for the LOX and LOH was 3,000 horsepower.
