The movie "Airplane" vs. "Zero Hour"

You guys probably already knew this, but I had no idea Airplane was based almost scene for scene from a 1950's movie. I thought it was a spoof on the 70's air disaster movies. This youtube video is excellent.

Enjoy.

I saw Zero Hour after having seen Airplane! This is in the days before the internet, but it is basically the same movie.

Never heard of Zero Hour, but Airplane is one of my favorite movies.

Never heard of Zero Hour, but Airplane is one of my favorite movies. I watch and laugh my ass off and MrsWD tells me to grow up.

At 3:20 in it becomes seamless perfection Realizing the Airplane lines are spoofs of the original movie gives them a whole new lease on life! :D

They even had one of the best known athletes in the country in Zero Hour, Crazy Legs Hirsch, in the role that was played by Kareem in the newer movie, which I found very amusing.

It was originally called "Flight Into Danger". Written by Arthur Hailey and produced by the CBC in 1956 (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation)

I read the book version of Zero Hour twice as a young teen. When 'Airplane' came out i LMAO and recognized so many of the lines that i really got the satire. ....and I'm a Leslie Neilson fan.....

That's easily one of the funniest scenes in any movie! I love the way Otto's head turns and nods.

He gives a little wink, if'n I recall correctly, nope I guess that is at the end.
