Check out the gross cost of toothpaste. It can be as high as $30/lb! So yes they sell tubes as small as 4 oz.

Alright, they've gone too far now.
They've shrunk my bread. The loaf is the same length. The slices are probably the same width, it's probably expensive to swap out baking pans. But they're shorter. The average slice is 4 1/2 inches wide, but only about 3 3/8 inches tall. Maybe 3 1/2 at the middle of the loaf. Can't make a decent sandwich. I might have to start going to the dirty bread store, which is what we called the bakery outlet when we were kids. Used to be Holsum, then Sara Lee, now it says Bimbo on the building. Still smells the same. |
Mrs. Baird is a Bimbo

My company produces the 3lb bag of almonds for Costco (as well as many other products). Costco is changing their bag to a 2.5lb size with a zipper top.
Yes, inflation increases prices and retailers do whatever they can to reduce the sticker shock and sometimes decrease size to keep prices the same. |

I get ‘em on line at the feed store. They sell ‘em for bulls to collect the stuff for cow insemination purposes or whatever.

It is interesting that while products are getting smaller, people seem to be getting bigger.

Several years ago, I bought a back box of graham crackers. It had been a long time since I had one, but when I opened them up, the crackers seemed about 20 to 25% smaller and the three packages didn’t fill the box up.
That’s when I decided everything is getting smaller. |
