golf clubs & bag value

any golfing folks here on off topic?

I played for only a few years, and that was a long time ago. I enjoyed it, but had absolutely no desire to get into the life if you know what I mean.....

I played with this set, and have no idea what they could bring on CL.

Any suggestions?

Very little value to used clubs. You'd be better off doing Goodwill and taking half of what they cost as a deduction. Might fly, might not. The IRS doesn't bother with the first $500 anyway.

A pro shop could sell those for 30-40% of new (guessing) but they can't give you much for them. What you have mainly going against you is the age of the clubs. Old golfing stuff is not worth much.

I'm really sure a donation is the best way to go. If you could find a way to donate directly that would be a great service.

I did a quick search since I am curious what my clubs (haven't been use in 6 years) are worth.

Not a pretty picture although the Callaway site has a lot of really good information:

https://www.callawaygolfpreowned.com/clearance/clearance-iron-sets/

2nd Swing as well: https://www.2ndswing.com/callaway/

BTW, nice clubs!

Go to some BS Municipal course. Pay for 18. Hit a crap shot and throw a club into the woods/water hazard at each hole. Have a hotdog and six beers at the turn. Problem solved.

I've been trying to buy used clubs, there are very few available. Those would get $300 easy where I live.

Guaranteed to take 8 strokes off your game. Just skip a par 3 hole.

Unless they are classics, they aren't worth much. I have a couple of sand wedges and 1 irons I could sell for $150 a piece.

Now I'm down to 2 full sets (1-SW) of 1973-1975 Wilson Staff Dynapower. One set I play on everyday goat pastures, the other for tournament courses.

My dad has 1-SW in every year from 1956-1975 Wilson Staff. And a few more, like the 1976-1980 staff that didn't have drilled thru hozel. At least one set of FG-17's.

Youngsters need to start with the hard to hit stuff, then stick with it. Then borrow a playing partners club and hit it, show him he sucks.

This is THE answer... used clubs over a few years old have with rare exception no value.

I had a bunch of older clubs, some were expensive when new. I donated them to a local High School coach for his golf program. It helps kids without resources have sticks to play.

Everyone has a lot of free time because they are not working. Gives them time to play golf, hence drives up the prices of used clubs.

Do you have any Ping Answer putters with zip codes that end in 020 or 029? How about a Scottsdale?
