Tom Seaver... RIP
I was a kid in '69 when the Mets did the impossible and won the World Series. I became a huge fan of Seaver... and from then on, followed his career like a nut... eagerly grabbing the newspaper every 4 days to absorb the boxscore stats when he pitched. Actually, I always perused the daily boxscores as a kid... but he was my baseball "idol" and special. RIP Tom .... you were one of the best ever.

Yeah man I remember his first no-hitter and the mob at first base. RIP Tom, you helped make the game great.

Here are pics from the Fresno H.S. baseball team from 1961. Tom is on the upper right. They mistakenly put another guy's name under his picture. Some thought it was intentional, since some people at school thought he was an A-hole. I remember seeing him playing a couple of times. He was small and later grew a decent amount. I talked to him a couple of times but didn't know him well. He was a great pitcher & grew up to be a good person. There were two or three guys from those years that went on to play professionally.
