For it to be so black the producer of said fecal material likely has been eating an animal and lots of blood. I would guess a dog or coyote. I do not claim any expertise in maters of excrement.

i am gonna go with something in the Skunk family. ring tailed something.

Scott Douglas 09-21-2020 08:59 AM

I won't bother you guys with what someone or something left in my driveway this morning. Had a gazillion ants on it eating away so I had to hose the driveway down after spraying the ants with bug spray.

It does look like Raccoon (from the poster) that has been feeding on grub...

stevej37 09-21-2020 09:28 AM

And that is was 12 inches from the house...raccoons are definitely brave enough to go anywhere.

juanbenae 09-21-2020 09:38 AM

ive got foxes up here that love to ***** atop things. spllied some bird seed, fox crapped on it over night, they crap on a big pine tree stump on the property pretty regularly and on a random paver stone walking trail to the well house right on a specific paver at least once a weel.

the turkeys? they crap everywhere.

Got this on a t shirt. Very handy field guide. Plus, when someone asks me how I am doing, I point at it and say, "Kinda *****ty". Gets lots of reactions.

I got plenty of deer poop in my backyard under the Crab Apple tree, that is why I typed "Definitely Not" above the pic, easy to miss...

jcwade 09-21-2020 04:52 PM

Can I play too?

I found this in the backyard of the place we just bought.
Looks like raccoon but it was pretty large. Maybe 5-6 inches.

Raccoon. Have two living in a 50 foot Italian Cypress adjacent to the house. Seem to eat whatever lives in the ivy around the house plus the neighbors dog food left outside. Bathe in the bird bath. It's a great life.
