I think I've purposefully visited more countries than US states. Canada, Mexico, England, France, Greece, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, India, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan |
I think the Porsche and I have been to 25.
Including flying and visiting friends, probably another 6 or 7. The Eastern and Southern states are the missing ones. |
Well over 2 million miles through 48 of them. Alaska and Hawaii remain on the list.

Dad was an Air Force officer so we moved a lot. My first day as a Senior in high school the English teacher wanted to get to know us better. She asked that we write down the schools we had attended and the States we had visited.
Almost all the kid in class had gone to one school from 1st Grade to 9th grade, and then the high school. Many had never left the state. She got to me, and I said I am not close to done, I am only up to 4th grade on my list. I was the last one to tell of my 10 other schools and many states. I don't know if I could even complete that list now. I have no idea the names of my schools from 1st to 6th grade. Each school was one year only, and a long time ago. With the internet I might figure it out assuming the schools are still there. |

44 for me but both kids were born in Alaska and flew to Hawaii for a weeks vacation in the 80's. Lots of work travel. Even Puerto Rico. Cheesiest stops were quick layovers in Phoenix and Denver. |
I've flown to others but this is my driving/riding

I have visited 33 US states, and driven from one to another and another etc several rimes, but best of all I flew myself to 4 states in a morning, landing in each( but not necessarily meeting the going to the restroom rule) . Sticking with North America,I have driven from many states to another state in Mexico too, and a few province to province trips in Canada.

Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana Idaho, Utah, Washington State, Oregon, California and Nevada. 19 Driven
Florida, Colorado, Texas. By air for a total of 22 States. Have driven through 6 provinces in Canada. Drove the truck and camper down to the tip of the Baja Peninsula. |
47 driving - only have missed M. Dakota. Hawaii by air - never in Alaska
|
From Wisconsin, I have driven to less than half the states in this nation.
Red - states I have driven to. Blue - states I have flown to. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1601088407.jpg Fun fact - Several red states involve car purchases, I bought one in Louisville KY, one in Springfield MO, and one in Salt Lake City, although I paid the guy extra to meet me in Cheyenne WY, so I can't count Utah as a "driven to" state. I towed a car to CO to sell to a guy to build a 944spec car. Fun fact #2 - Most of the "flown to" states involve visits to race tracks. CA - Laguna Seca, Sears Point UT - Miller Motorsports Park NC, VA - flew into Raleigh, drove to VIR, I've also been to Summit Point GA - Road Atlanta FL - St Pete, Daytona for Rennsport Reunion The east coast states were checked off on a honeymoon trip to Portland ME, but other than that, I haven't driven more than two days from home. |
Been in a car in 49 states. In Hawaii only aircraft tires. Never left the airport in Honolulu in three stops there. Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, North Dakota and Alaska had me only as a passenger. I was still a kid and my parents were driving. Probably a quarter of the states were in a rent car while on a business trip. With my parents driving, I have made it both ways to and from Alaska on the Al-Can Highway and from Alberta across Canada as far as Quebec. Only driven as far as Monterey in Mexico from the Texas boarder. My first time to drive a car was on Guam, a US territory.

I've been in 48 states, driven in 47 of those; Maine was an airport visit. Still need Alaska, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. Internationally, I've been to 32 countries, driving in 22 of those. Craziest places (thankfully a passenger) were Moldova (it was raining and the car owner's windshield wipers had been stolen), Turkey and Italy. Best driving (IMHO) will always be Germany...nothing beats it on so many levels.

I have driven and visited 48 CONUS (missed VT), and have flown to and visited HI and AK. Actually lived in HI for 40 months. 49/50 states for me.

At least 35 or 36, may be a couple more. I’d have to look at a map and ponder it for a while.
Still have a bunch of paper maps. I used to buy topographic maps of the entire state, four states that I had an interest in riding one of my sport bikes or blasting through in one of my cars. Are used to spend hours looking for twisty roads. Bought another folding map about a month ago. |
