Stuff is replaceable, lives are not. Keep your loved ones close to you and away from the fires.

Our C130s are helping out to contain the fires. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and the firefighters can kill this beast.

Hopiing for the best for you & Mrs. Vash. A lot of us are exeriencing anxiety about fires this year in Cali. Coming home earlier today, there was a Caltrans flashing sign by the side of the road just outside of our little village saying power may be cut off. I bought more sprinklers and hoses today to put around my property and leave on if a fire comes our way. This is the first year I've felt anxious about the possibility, so I can relate a bit about how you feel. Again, best of luck.

wswartzwel 09-28-2020 03:35 PM

Praying for you Vash, Hope the fires get contained and miss your place.

Danimal16 09-28-2020 03:45 PM

Praying for you Vash. Tough to hear this.

Scott Douglas 09-28-2020 03:52 PM

Having once lived up in that neck of the woods, this is hard to take. I know how dry it must be up there and how hot it is right now too.
Good luck Vash. Keep us informed if you can.

Glad you were able to evacuate successfully. I hope your home is still there!

gregpark 09-29-2020 04:09 AM

Wait...you're in Martinez and contemplating evacuation for the Napa valley fire?

rusnak 09-29-2020 04:18 AM

Does not look good for containment.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1601381772.jpg

I believe he evacuated to his in-laws place in Martinez.

gregpark 09-29-2020 08:30 AM

Oh I see. All the best to you and your property Vash. I live in the city of Napa with no danger other than the smoke. We've lent our house out to evacuee friends while we skedaddled to our mountain place. Our St. Helena friends have the upstairs and our Kenwood friends the downstairs. Meadowood is gone, a real shame

RWebb 09-29-2020 09:39 AM

the buildings destroyed count this am is 80, with a few of them being resorts, winery centers, etc.

it is really bad news that the fire has jumped the Sonoma Hwy.

vash 09-29-2020 09:41 AM

covid doesnt rest, so my wife being a Covid Nurse for the county - had to get back to work.

power company sent us an email that power was restored, so we came back home this morning. hard to get real rest elsewhere. my house had LOTS of ash and burnt out embers all around. we got lucky. no wind in the forecast and very cool weather.

house is okay. my backyard fence was the line..well the creek behind that fence was the mandatory evac line. unbelievable. my house never actually had to evac. which is insane because i just drove past the blockades to check out fire damage for the State of California and the fire was very close. the fire took a left coming down that hillside and past my neighborhood by about mile, mile and a half.

i have power and my freezer is not full of rotten ocean caught salmon (i forgot the freezer in the great escape), so LIFE IS REALLY GOOD.

i'll keep alert and we are still living in bags. so escape V2.0 will be seamless.

thanks my friends...i felt the good vibes coming from you all. i think you turned the wind.

Wonderful news.

I was looking at the Glass fire perimeter on Google maps and was eye-balling about 4,000 feet from your house.

Winds are 4mph with NE heading per Weather.com which I think is good.

vash 09-29-2020 09:56 AM

NE wind is good. real good.!

911boost 09-29-2020 10:01 AM

I am glad to hear it.

There were more evacuations here in Northern CO recently as well. Nothing super close to me yet.

so i browsed my BIL's movies. MULAN? okay...Mulan it is! a Disney flick. no singing, no magic teacups, no helpless princess that needs to be saved...

the movie didnt suck. the actress is a cutie. had Jet Li and Donnie Yen, both kung-fu actors that i like.

is this the first Disney flick that people got killed?

Great news, Vash. Fire owns me.
