Disney Princess that kills people!!
hey..dont judge. was was EVACUATED and couldnt sleep in the spongiest bed on the planet. the pillows were like lawn furniture cushions.
so i browsed my BIL's movies. MULAN? okay...Mulan it is! a Disney flick. no singing, no magic teacups, no helpless princess that needs to be saved... the movie didnt suck. the actress is a cutie. had Jet Li and Donnie Yen, both kung-fu actors that i like. is this the first Disney flick that people got killed?

Because otherwise, Disney makes lots of films where folks die (that you may not normally think of as Disney movies). The last 5 Star Wars movies been Disney movies. I'm guessing the Maleficent movies may have had some death. Besides those, John Carter of Mars, National Treasure(?), Chronicles of Narnia, Tron: Legacy, etc.... Then it seems like some of the old kids cartoons would often have an old wise animal die so the new young animal could assume the throne sort of thing. But I can't remember any specific instances. It just seems like that was a theme. But far more important, is how are you doing and do you have any info about your home? I guess I should go back and check your other thread now that you've posted in this one.

Heck in almost every Disney cartoon they have the big tear jerker moment when either one or both parents die, or some death.
I still will not watch Old Yeller or Dumbo from the trauma they caused me as a kid. Dead parents are a central theme in Disney movies.

Focus on the real world ...
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-54155809 The US will block some exports from China's Xinjiang region, over alleged human rights abuses against the mostly Muslim Uighur minority. It says "forced labour" was used to make the products, including at a "vocational" centre it called a "concentration camp". The export ban includes garments, cotton, computer parts and hair products from five entities in Xinjiang as well as Anhui province. It stops short of a wider regional ban. "These extraordinary human rights violations demand an extraordinary response," Kenneth Cuccinelli, the Department of Homeland Security's acting secretary told reporters. "This is modern-day slavery," he said. The move is the latest by the Trump administration to put pressure on China over the situation in Xinjiang. |
