USPS Flat Rate question

didn't want to divert the FedEx thread, so...

Is there a way to ship out USPS flat rate packages without having to go to the Post office?

I see some text on the flat rate box I have where you can call for pickup - but how do you pay?

Pickup is free with your regular mail delivery.

There are UPS stores all over the place around here. I just go there to ship things via UPS or drop off a shipment with the label on it.

Almost any business is faster then the USPS. There is always a line at the post office.

No need to stand in line.

Print your label at home.
Pickup at your home/business or drop off at the USPS.
If small enough it can go in the rotating drop chute, otherwise just set it on the counter.
The line is for people that need service

Thx - I got it. This buyer is in Hawaii and wanted USPS flat rate. UPS etc. would be pretty spendy

Several post offices in my area have 24 hour kiosks that work great for mailing flat rate boxes. I stop on the way to work at 6 am, no lines, no other people.

sigh, USPS can really suck. I used their priority mail to deliver a pension check. They promised overnight delivery. That was two days ago. I've racked it, the site says it'll be delivered to the office today, but the office is closed so who knows where the check will sit.

I'm not worried about it being pilfered as it is marked for a specific account, but if it gets misplaced the process of replacing it will be a nightmare.

you can buy the labels rigtht on their website or if you have paypal you can get them on there paypal.com/shipnow but they have limited options. I believe all of the flat rate services are available on there. I havnt gone to the post office in about 5 years and i ship out boxes almost every day

I recently used shipmybowlingball.com but you can use it to ship anything up to 20lbs in the box they recommend (10x10x10) for $17.99.

I actually shipped a rare bowling ball using this service from Seattle to NY and it got there in two days with tracking.
