Motion alarm

I need an inside motion sensor alarm with a key pad and a loud outside siren. Not interested in an alarm company setup. Any suggestions?

At my old house, I had one of those canned air horns mounted by the back door to the garage with an angled bracket screwed to the door, positioned so that if the door opened about 2 or 3 inches, the bracket on the door would press the button on top of the air horn.

This only works on a door that is not used.

Are you a diy guy?

Hella 3AG 003 399-801 Supertone HighTone/Low Tone Kit – 12 V used to make a car horn sound like an 18 wheeler.

Arduino type board, small 12 or 16 key, keypad, either or both infared and/or ultra sonic type sensors, and relay or motor control board. 12V power supply. (requires familiarity with C/C++ language, a little soldering, wiring, etc) These provably have 10 to 20 ft sensing range)

Buy a 'used' alarm system from someone who is 'upgrading'.

They are pretty simple to build up and program.

I had once bought all of the stuff to fully alarm our house. It could be monitored or not, but the website is gone now.

These are the parts that I bought. I suspect you can still find the parts on the 'Net.

SimpliSafe is cheap, very good quality and you do not need a service contract.
Works on WiFi or cellular.
