I'm about 99.5 % done with a million projects I had Pcar "to-do" list.

No more $$ is going into the bucket of bolts that is my 911.

I've had the time and motivation to do A LOT of small projects over the last 6mo.

(BTW.... an expected, not asked for, could have done without, Covid by-product)



Since there were no more projects on tap my mind started wondering........ what about that BOBBER on the wish list of over 15 years................. Hummmm just for schits and grins... let me take a look around and see what I can see....... (FUCH-UP #1)

So I find a project bike that seemed to have jumped out of my head/vison/mind and onto this guys "for sale" page............ he was asking $2200 for the skeleton of this bike..... i also noticed that it had been for sale for 3 months.

So Genius (stupid-ass) me say to myself "oh what the h3ll why not ! (Fuch-up #2) and I got an offer Homie $400 and I would pick it up within the hour..........

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD...................... OH-OH..... what the hell did I just do ?????????

I picked it up within an hour and now its in my garage. a new project.... GRREAAATTTTTT.

Its a 1975 Honda CB750 that has been heavily modified, chopped stretched and lowered 1.5 inches. The engine is supposed to be strong so is the tranny (YES, I know it probably is NOT and needs a full rebuild)

No Pink Slip (Probably a reason for that, right?) The Vin on the engine is different than the VIN on the frame, probably for a reason for that right?

I pay to have the Vin on the engine AND frame checked.... all clear. Then I find a company that Titles and Registers no title bikes for $150.00. Already paid for getting the process started. (Few biker friends have used this company and are thrilled with the results)

Fuch-Up #3 I have NOOOOOOOO idea about anything when it comes to motorcycles...... NOTHING! (But I did learn how to spell my name so I know I am capable of learning stuff)

Sooooo I am edumacting (as SAMMYG) says on as much as I can to build this garage/build project!

I'm looking to build on a ridiculously tight budget KNOWING I am going FUCH-UP more things than I am going to get right but I think its gonna be fun.

Leaving the engine and tranny to the pros but bolting on the other stuff I figure I can do (maybe 7-10 times before I get it right)

This is going to be a build that my oldest son and I are going to try.... (YES FELLAS THIS THE WHOLE IDEA/POINT to this build, time with my oldest in the garage, so stop yelling at me!)

Did I mention I paid 400.00 for this thing?

NOTHING is going to change on the overall "LOOK" of the bike as it stands.....

It will end up with the Same:

• Engine
  Tank
• Handle-bars
• Rims
• Seat
• Forks

It will obviously be cleaned up and Painted a Matte black to include all the above.

Nothing better than a good 'learning experience' :)

Nope..... not very comfy at all...... but I have no intention of riding it on pleasure drives down the coast to a winery for the weekend. Its more about the build with my son for now...... I'll probably ride the LESS than the 911 and I get to the 911 once every couple of months !! hahaha.

It currently has a 130-70-17 on the rear and I should be receiving the new tire today....

I bought a 180-55-17............ not that it will do anything for a less traumatic ride but it is a bigger tire so MAYBE?

And you bought a new tire because you're going to wear out the one on it rolling that around your garage for the next couple years?

Looks like a fun project - something new and different to build with your son. I'd call that time (and money) well spent any day.

Whats with the extra 2 acres between the engine and rear tire? Gonna handle like a tank with the long wheelbase........

Best to find a basket case donor project with a proper frame and go form there.........

Spend time on that Porsche as it looks like it needs lots of TLC.

The guy that buys your finished bike for @0 cents on the dollar will love it someday. :)

I built a Cafe racer over the course of a year or so, it was a ton of fun to do. Haven't used it much as its hard to beat the p car for the fun factor, but I really enjoyed the process. Next year I will pass it on to somebody, likely for pennies in the dollar yes, that will have fun driving it. And I won't regret a thing about it. You won't either i am sure, no matter the outcome.

I also paid $400 for my 550. DIY on the cheap, had about $500 into it, including a fresh top end (came without a head), polishing/painting and converting to a dual front disc setup.

Hardtails are fun bar bikes, but you had better invest in a kidney belt unless you like pissing blood after an afternoon ride......

With only $400 invested, you have nothing to lose. If the two of you put in some elbow grease, and fabrication, it should come out good, and like you said, quality shop time with your son !

This will make great wall art when finished! lol

so it's been a few weeks since my bonehead, knee jerk decision to buy a Bobber bones of a bike. I know I had no business doing that but what the he77 right?

I've taken the bike to my buddy who IS a bonafide bike mechanic with his racing motorcycle shop thriving. He is currently going through the engine and transmission to make sure it is good.... (PROBABLY isnt but hopefully it is). I have my fingers crossed.

Sooooooo onto the 1st project my sons and I could do.......

We/I decided to give MAKING a seat a try. I've never EVER done something like that, or even close to it but.... what the he77 right ??? !!!!!

Soooo I jumped on youtube and started poking around.... didnt LOOK to hard and its a relatively small piece... how hard could it be ?
