Mold on the seats/carpeting/dash top are relatively easy to clean/remove . But how do you remove mold from the inside of gauge cluster ? Or on ALL of the wiring under the dash ? What about HVAC system and controls ? What about the door cards are they moldy on the inside facing the door ? Air bags covered in mold ? That is just the tip of the iceberg . Unless you can get the car for 500.00 or less I would run fast in the opposite direction . Good luck SmileWavy

This car has not been flooded! The mold on the seats/dash/carpets comes from the ambient humidity in Panama! It is not to the point where it is behind the gauges. I will take a look and see if it is inside AC vents and wiring as noted above. I have a property by the beach and unless I turn on the AC, temps rise to about 29ºC (84ºF) and about 75-80% humidity! It takes quite a bit getting used to the heat and humidity levels down here...

I'm not going blind into it, but I did quote the parts and labor of what I listed above, plus tires, plus battery, plus pro detailing to then calculate what my bid offer would be. The top mechanism is still the big question and that too will be taken into consideration. Wasn't sure if I was missing something besides all fluids and filters needing replacement.

I'm sure they will be asking for top dollar because "they know what they got!" lol

As an insurance adjuster we have had to total so many cars due to mold.

And this is beyond fresh water damage by submersion.

Improper storage is a big one

It's just a huge liability.

If any driver gets in an accident due to not feeling well because of a moldy car we are on the hook.

Insurance company will not remediate a car cause of mold.

Consider this when deciding.

Actually, completely the opposite... When I called to find out more about the car, the person in charge of the auction has no idea/details about the car. All he knows is that it is a 2012 Audi R8. I've shared with him additional details, but not all as I don't necessarily want to help him sell it to someone else ;):D

Had not thought much about the mold until now as it is something relatively common down here  Will consider going to see the car in person to get a better idea of the condition, but in the meantime, here are a couple of pics that show the mold on the passenger seat and near central AC vents.
